NIKHIL: So, we are done here with Birmingham Phoenix winning the game as they defeat Southern Brave by 53 runs, as they fail to chase down the target of 176.
Birmingham Phoenix started the innings in a positive manner as they lost their top order yet kept on scoring at a crazy rate. Will Smeed created history becoming the first ever centurion here in THE HUNDRED as he smashed 101 in just 50 deliveries, He was well helped by little cameos from Livingstone, Moeen, and Benjamin as they managed to score 176 runs in their quota of 100 deliveries.
For the Southern Brave side, Jordan, Lintott, Stoinis, and Fuller took a wicket each.
In reply to the target set by the Superchargers side, Rockets started in the best possible way as they scored 44 runs in the first 25 deliveries losing a couple of wickets.
Vince and Quinton started off in a sluggish manner as they scored 18 runs for the first wicket partnership as Vince fell on a score of 17. Stoinis, Tim David, and Quinton soon perished on scores of 1, 11, and 15 respectively. Davies and Whiteley built up a partnership of 18 runs before Davies got out after scoring 33 runs. No batter from the Braves Stood up to take the responsibility to get them over the line.
For the Braves side, Brookes took a Fifer today and stood up the tallest amongst all. Kane Richardson took a couple of wickets. Helm and Howell also took a wicket each.
