The run chase started comprehensively for the reds and they never looked back after that. Lasith Crosspulle and Kusal Mendis scored at a very fine rate and fully utilized the powerplay and due to their attacking mindset and approach the run rate after first six overs were 10.33. That's where Reds were advantageous. That advantage was taken through by the later arrived batters, Kamindu Mendis and Wanindu Hasaranga. They played single between them and went for hitting the loose balls towards boundaries and eventually took their team past 137 with almost 19 balls to spare. Kusal Mendis stayed in the middle and played a captains knock of 56 runs of 45 balls to ensure trophy comes to his hand.

An easy win for the Reds as they have won this SLC Invitational Cup with an easy wins over the Blues by 7 wickets.
Batting first, Blues batters were not in their form today as all the Red's bowlers were quite good especially Hasaranga and Theeksana and the others including Madushanka and Wellalage were also very impressive with their spell. They never let the Blues batters to free their arms not even in the death overs. A lot of batters got their start including de Silva and Lahiru Udara but they were not able to get that converted to a big innings. Ashen Bandara was their top scorer who made 40 runs out of 30 balls.
