For now, this is Saptak Sanyal, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and the scorer/analyst of this game Ghanendra Singh Thakur. Have a good day.
Up next, we have another encounter lined-up in about half an hour time. Toronto Sixers will be up against White Rock Warriors. The first ball will be bowled at 7:15 AM IST and 6:45 PM Local Time. Do join us for that coverage.
Time for us to wrap up our coverage from this fixture. It was a low scoring encounter where the pitch assisted the bowlers. However Lewis Gregory's spell stood out and Moeen Ali's blitzkrieg at the backend of the innings propelled Vancouver Anchors to victory. They have defeated Brampton Blitz by 6 wickets and with 7 balls to spare.
Moeen Ali (Vancouver Anchors Captain):"[The pitch wasn't easy, was it] It wasn't easy. You try and pick your bowlers. They had good pace and bounce. Ben (Raine) is a very good cricketer but we targeted him.
[About the bowling performance] We bowled outstandingly well. The wicket was difficult.
[Working with Mickey Arthur] Mickey has been outstanding. We have some very good players. The environment is good and winning is always good."
Lewis Gregory (Player of the Match): "(Thoughts on the pitch and what was your strategy?) Yeah it was a little bit annoying. Sanderson set the tone for us. I guess picking up some key players in the powerplay helped. It was all about hitting the top of the stumps and trying to maximize that to our benefit.
(On his batting experience) I enjoyed bowling there (chuckles). Obviously Hardus and T (Tymal Mills) were too quick and I tried to get through that. Mo (Moeen Ali) struck beautifully against Raine in the back end and that got us over the line."
Player of the Match: Lewis Gregory
Time for the post-match presentations.
06:27 AM IST, 05:57 PM Local Time: A pretty professional run chase from the Vancouver Anchors in the end despite having a few stutters early on. They wrap up a six-wicket victory with seven balls to spare against the Brampton Blitz to register back-to-back victories.
Chasing 85 for victory, the Vancouver Anchors had a couple of early setbacks with Tymal Mills first dismissing Aaron Johnson for a two-ball duck. Then, Dilon Heyliger castled the dangerous Aneurin Donald for just 6 while the pacer came back a couple of overs later to get rid of Martin Andersson. The Anchors were in a spot of bother at 21/3 after 3.3 overs but Moeen Ali and Obus Pienaar came together for a mini recovery.
Pienaar struck a couple of sixes off Ben Raine while the Anchors got to 50/3 after 6 overs when Martin Guptill brought Hardus Viljoen back into the attack. The South African pacer responded perfectly with a slow full-toss which trapped Pienaar in front. Brampton Blitz couldn't take advantage of the breakthrough though as Tymal Mills was taken apart for 20 runs by Moeen and Lewis Gregory. Moeen went on a rampage and with a few more big hits against Raine as he sealed the match with seven balls to spare.
