We have a day's gap here at the WCL. On the 7th of October, we are all set for exciting double header action. Australia Champions will take on Bangladesh Champions at 5 PM IST (3:30 PM Local Time). England Champions will then take on the West Indies Champions at 9 PM IST (7:30 PM Local Time). Do join us on time.
For the first ever time in WCL history have England won back-to-back games. The positive for them is that they have comprehensively defeated both their opponents in India and Bangladesh. Also, they have a win batting first and a win bowling first. All boxes ticked as of now with Moeen Ali still to arrive.

Bangladesh were poor with the bat through the middle and pretty ordinary in the field as well. The spinners simply could not grip the ball with the dew around and all in all it was not the best debut they could have hoped for in this competition.
Ravi Bopara (POTM & England Champions Captain): "[Why is he not playing competitive cricket regularly?] I am not sure actually. I don't get picked anymore. The old man does not get picked. Get rid of the dead wood.

[Any thoughts of playing franchise cricket around the world?] Na. I doubt that would happen. I have enjoyed the last couple of days. I try to keep myself fit to a decent standard. I keep hitting balls every now and then especially in a lead up to a competition like this. Just to stay at a standard. It is important. You have played so many years. You shall hold your standard.

[Advice to youngsters when they start a T20 innings] Try to watch the ball. That is one of the most important things in my game. I think most batters want to simplify the game as much as they can. The best way for me is to watch the ball really hard. Even when it goes around the field, when it is in the bowler's hand and when he is delivering it. When I don't play well, I am not watching the ball. And when you are chasing, there are times in the game when you think about what you are going to do. Especially, if you have not got a deep batting line up. It worked out well today. Everyone did really well.

[Who will captain the team when Moeen Ali arrives considering his 100% record?] He is a better captain than I am. We will wait and see. Our coaches have brilliant plans. Usman Afzaal has been excellent. He is putting all the plans together against every team. He has done really well. A lot of credit goes to him, and I think it will be his decision."
Mohammad Mahmudullah (Bangladesh Champions Captain): "[thoughts on the match] They did well. We started really well but lost wickets in a cluster. It's hard to comeback but we managed to get 160, tried to get some early wickets but it's okay.

[on the chat at halftime] I just said if you get 2 more wickets then we are in the game. Ravi and Samit were batting really well."
