Laura Wolvaardt (South Africa Women Captain) - It was a bit too close in the end but yes we will take the win. I think we were excellent with the ball. We started off really well. They did a get few runs at the back end there. We would have liked to restrict them to a 100 or less with how we started.
(On the run chase) Yeah overall, very pleased. It was a tricky chase for us chasing 118 especially with the way we batted against spin as a unit. They brought in some really slow spin and that made things a bit tough for us on a slow wicket. We need to work a bit on our batting ourselves going forward.
(On whether she will watch the India- Australia clash) Yeah definitely I will. Never thought I would be supporting Australia but Go Aussies for tonight. "

We couldn't get runs in the middle overs. We were good in the final overs. We were short by 10-15 runs and it cost us.
[Key learnings from this tournament?] First of all, I should thank my bowlers and fielders for the way they kept fighting till the end. It made me feel very proud of the team. We came here to win games definitely. We won two games. But we wanted to win more. We made it to a spot where we can qualify for the semi-finals. the 'Home of Cricket'. It was a nervy win for them but it keeps them
alive in the tournament. Now, all eyes will be on the next clash between
Australia and India. The Proteas will now be supporting the Southern Stars. A
win for Australia and South Africa will be through to the semi-finals. Bangladesh's campaign comes to an end.
Earlier, Bangladesh opted to bat first. They lost both their openers in Juairiya Ferdous (0) and Taj Nehar (1) inside the powerplay, with the former getting cleaned up on the very first ball of the match. Sobhana Mostary and Sharmin Akhter steadied the ship with a very good 56-run stand.
Sharmin (22) and Mostary (42) laid the foundation for a strong finish. Skipper Nigar Sultana played a fantastic cameo of 20-ball 32* at the back end to power her side to 117/5 at the end of 20 overs. For South Africa, Nonkululeko Mlaba bowled beautifully and registered figures of 2/22.
Marufa Akter knocked over Laura Wolvaardt (0) on the first ball of the run chase. Tazmin Brits and Annerie Dercksen steadied the ship with a good 52-run stand before the former fell in the ninth over. In the next over, Dane van Niekerk (4) departed.
Dercksen looked good for her run-a-ball 45 before she got dismissed in the 15th over. A mix-up in the middle resulted in Marizanne Kapp (16) getting run out.
