That's it from our coverage of match number 4 in Women's Asia Cup 2026. A group B encounter between the victorious Bangladesh side and Indonesia. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Darpan Tikiya and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
Pakistan will face Thailand tomorrow, September 1 at 8 PM IST/6:30 PM Local Time as the women in green start their campaign. Thailand started off strong defeating Hong Kong but went down against India, would be looking to strengthen themselves in Group A.
Bangladesh get off the mark in the competition with a 71-run win and move to number 2 in the points table as Sri Lanka has a slightly better run rate.
Nigar Sultana (Bangladesh Women Captain): "[On the win and the batting unit] I think there are a lot of areas that we could have done better as a batting unit, but still it's a new game, and we have to adapt to a lot of things. And the way Shorna actually finished the innings, I was pretty happy about it.

[On the spinners] I guess we need to bowl more right areas in the next game because tonight maybe somehow we go through this; I don't think with a good quality opposition we will be able to do that. So I think we have some time before the game, and we'll definitely talk about it and rectify our mistakes.

[On the preparations and goals for the tournament] See, we played the last few Asia Cups. It didn't go our way. We just played the semi-final and went to the warm-ups. So we really wanted to go through that path this time, and I think our team has that possibility, and we just need to be focused, and we have to play our A game."
Player of the Match: Nahida Akter
Ni Nanda Sakarini (Indonesia Women Captain): [On emotions] "We had everything alright in our bowling side. They gave their best. We need to be ruthless against the big teams.

[On the feelings] We feel very happy to be here. We deserve to be here. We will get better.

[On the positives] The fight and excitement from the girls. So we hope in the next game we will give the same."
