Milestone
A Bangladesh victory to remember for ages. They won a game against India in the Asia Cup after nearly a decade. Shakib Al Hasan and his lads will be flying home with smiles as this marks their journey in the ongoing competition.

India on the other hand will be tempted to come out for one last time in the Grand Finale at the R. Premadesa. They are going to face Sri Lanka, the defending champions on their own yard on September 17.

So, this is it from the coverage space. It's Arijit Kundu signing off on behalf of esteemed co-commentator, AkshayaKrishna Polya and scorer/analyst Zeeshan Naiyer. Stick around to this network as a lot of international and State franchise action rolls your way.
Shakib Al Hasan (Bangladesh Captain and POTM): "Yes (chuckles). We wanted to give the guys who haven't played so far in this tournament a go. We wanted to see what combination would work for us. In the last game, the spinners were doing well and hence opted for a few in the playing XI and luckily, it went our way.

I was not batting well until this point in this Asia Cup but wanted to contribute to the team. It was a tough wicket to bat on with the spinners getting a lot of help. When I hit my first boundary, it felt good. As the ball got older, it became difficult to play against the spin.

When Mahedi came into bowl, it was not easy to bowl. He asked for a bowl five straight overs in the end. I also want to give credit to Tanzim Hasan Sakib. We have got a good team for the World Cup. We had a lot of players getting injured, a lot of players coming and going during this tournament which never helped us."
Player of the Match: Shakib Al Hasan
Shakib Al Hasan signs the match ball and follows it with collecting the winner's check.
Maximum Sixes of the Match: Shubman Gill (5 sixes)
Smart Catch of the Match: Rohit Sharma (to take the catch of Mehidy Hasan Miraz)
11:18 PM IST and Local Time: Let us shift our focus onto the post-match presentations...
Rohit Sharma (India Captain): "Pretty straightforward logic, you know, we wanted to give some game time to the players. Looking at the bigger picture, it was necessary to give the guys some game time. Not at all compromising on how we wanted to play the game. It was very much necessary to get in some players who are likely to play in the World Cup.

Axar Patel batted brilliantly but unfortunately for us, he couldn't finish. He showed a lot of character but credit goes to the Bangladesh bowlers.

Definitely not to forget Shubman Gill's hundred. It was brilliant. He backs his game, he knows how exactly he wants to play and pace the game. Very clear in his mind and knows what he wants to do for the team. Just look at his form for the year and the past. It was been just brilliant. Solid against the new ball, works extremely hard and there are no optional practice as well."
Tanzim Hasan Sakib: "Yeah, first wicket, Rohit bhai was my dream wicket, you know, my debut wicket. I just concentrated on bowling on the right lines and lengths.

Always prepared to bowl longer spells. In the death overs, I thought of bowling the slower balls. But with 8 runs needed in the last 2 balls, I thought of pace on the ball and yorker length. Executed well and happy with this win against India.

Now we are going back home but the win has been a good one. I bowled the perfect ball and it is a happy feeling."
Earlier Bangladesh Piled up 265 runs on the back of a 101 runs fifth wicket stand between Shakib Al Hasan and Towhid Hridoy. The pair of Shardul Thakur and Mohammed Shami opened the bowling for India and quickly pushed the Tigers on the back foot. They were three wickets down for just 28 runs and it started off with Shami cleaning up Litton Das in the third over.

Shakib soaked up the pressure and played a matured innings of 80 off 85 balls. He mixed up citation with aggression and was supported by Hridoy in the rebuilding job. The duo negated the spinners and pacers well during this phase and approached calculatively.

Right after the second Drinks Break, Shardul Thakur broke the partnership as Shakib chopped one back to the stumps. It was followed by Shami removing Hridoy in quick time. Just when India would've thought to capitalize on the moment, Nasum Ahmed and Mahedi Hasan came out of the syllabus. The duo jolted a quickfire of 44(45) and 29(23)* respectively to steer the Bangladesh side to a total of 265 runs in 50 overs.
