That's it from our coverage of match number 1 in WCL season 3! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentators Mohammad Anab, Abhishek Sharma and scorer/analyst Paras Yadav. Stay tuned for more action from around the world.
Match number 2 between Pakistan Champions and Bangladesh Champions has been postponed due to technical issues. The action in WCL resumes tomorrow with another double header. South Africa Champions taking on West Indies Champions at 5 PM IST (3:30 PM Local Time).
A fantastic curtain raiser to the third season of WCL! Yuvraj Singh firing all guns blazing to help India Champions register a thumping win. Dhawal Kulkarni and Mohit Sharma shining with the ball in the team's defence!
Yuvraj Singh (India Champions Captain and POTM): "(Enjoyed the batting today) Well, I think I was a bit lucky to get dropped off the first ball. I was telling Khawaja that my body’s hurting, thanks to you! I don’t know whether to thank you or not thank you. But yeah, I think I’ve been putting in the work over the last two months with my body, and hopefully I played some overs, spent some time out there, and was able to win the game today for the team.

(On his preparation for WCL) But I think last year I was injured and struggling a bit. I wanted to come fairly fit for this tournament, and I’m happy with the way my body is coming through the tournament. Performance happens; sometimes it doesn’t, but the process has been good. Hopefully, we can carry on the momentum from here, and you and I can hopefully have a round of golf if the body survives!

(On Harbhajan Singh's bowling today) Oh, definitely. I think Bhajji is a legend of the game, and I knew that whenever I’m in trouble, I can toss the ball to him. He’s not afraid to bowl to right-handers, forget left-handers! He’s always giving his hundred per cent.

But I think, you know, we won today; I got Player of the Match, but I really think the Player of the Match should be Dhawal Kulkarni, because our bowlers won us the game today. So yeah.

(On his fielding effort) Yeah, this is happy. I just told the guys, “Look after your bodies, and when you need to catch it, just catch it.” And then, you know, you’ve got to field throughout the whole tournament, so look after your bodies. I think the guys made a good effort with the catches, and that’s what matters."
Player of the Match: Yuvraj Singh
Striker of the Match: D'Arcy Short
Best Bowler: Dhawal Kulkarni
