Australia may not be able to play for a series win anymore; however, they still have to play for pride. The 3rd ODI of the series will take place on the 30th of September at Potchefstroom. We shall start our coverage at 4 PM IST, 12:30 PM Local Time. Live action will begin at 5 PM IST, 1:30 PM Local Time. Do join us on time.
South Africa continue to add to their dominance against Australia in ODIs. It felt like the hosts came with the exact same plans and trapped the visitors in those once again. Australia did not learn from their previous mistakes. That cost them dearly as they have lost the chase of winning the series now.

Temba Bavuma (South Africa Captain): "(On sealing the series today) Yeah, I think it was another all-round good team performance. With the bat, it was tricky upfront but we managed to handle that challenge. Then to get ourselves to that total was special. Unbelievable innings from David (Miller). And then the bowlers as well. They bowled well. We knew that they (Australia) were going to put us under pressure. We understood that a couple of wickets will put them on the backfoot. So, yeah, another overall good team performance.
(On his own innings) It's always nice to contribute with the bat. I think I had a much better opportunity coming in, just after the first ball. I was able to take my time, build some partnerships and yeah, always nice to contribute to the teams' cause.
(On having Aiden Markram as the 3rd spinner) Very valuable. Obviously him turning the ball away from the left handers. The conditions also offered a lot more turn than we expected. All the other spinners bowled well too. I think the way the spinners complimented our bowling attack was exceptional. We always have our fast bowlers. We were able to lean on them (spinners).
(On the ground on this special day) Yeah, fantastic. Everyone was cheering. Like I said earlier, it's always a day we look forward to in the calendar. We look forward to this game, playing for good cause and we seem to play quite decently with the pink cloth as well."
Mitchell Marsh (Australia Captain): "[On the loss today] Yeah, look really disappointed. We came here with the attitude of making it 1-1 going into that final game. Credit to South Africa, they played really well and they outplayed us again.
[On the batting struggles between Overs 30-40] Yeah, look, it is certainly an area of improvement and we are well aware of that. I thought in both games, the way we set up our innings has been really good. We just have not been able to execute in those middle phases. That has been a great learning curve for some of our young guys especially. In these moments you have to give full credit to South Africa for the way they have bowled and fielded.
[On the positives of Jack Edwards and Xavier Bartlett] Yeah, they are good young players. I think the way we bowled, particularly when Nathan Ellis went down, it would have been a handy 6 overs towards the backend and probably shrunk that total down. We never know. I thought the way some of our young guys performed and seeing glimpses of this makes the future bright. However, ultimately, we have been outplayed and we understand that.
[On the next ODI at Potchefstroom] Keep improving. We don't want to be whitewashed. So yeah, go there and win that game and play some good cricket."
David Miller (Player of the Match): "(On registering his highest score in ODIs today) Yeah, great feeling. 142 against Australia again. So, it was nice to go past my previous best which was against Australia.
(On his love affair against Australia) They are so competitive. They are always at you. They bring out the best in the guys. It's good to compete against the best. It was a great day out and really glad to get over the line and also put up a big shift for the team.
(On the conditions and also batting with Bavuma in the middle) Yeah, it was great. Temba is so solid. He played an incredible knock today. We just tried to ride the way. It was a bit of slow bounce on the surface. So, we kind of kept feeding each other with strike and then moved into sort of 2nd, 3rd, 4th gear and tried to take it deep. One-Day cricket is so long so you have a lot of time. It was really cool to have a good partnership with him.
(On scoring a hundred, having his mom's name on his shirt) Yeah, she has been through a lot in the last couple of years. It's a great initiative and kind of nice to name different names on each shirts. Nice to represent my mom and everything she has been through and to top it off with a win, I don't think it gets better.
