That's it from an enthralling final day in the final Test match! Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Dev Rajawat and scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world.
That sums up the 2-match unofficial Test series from Puducherry. The teams reshuffle a bit but remain at the same venue for the List A matches that come next. The first game to be played on October 6, 9 AM IST!
Well a promising game from both the team's perspectives. Lots of takeaways for either sides. One the players will remember for ages! India A forcing out a draw and clinching the series 1-0! The players pose with the pictures. Nachiket Bhute is handed the trophy by Padikkal after his heroics late down the order and wickets in the first innings!
Devdutt Padikkal (India A Captain): (On the team's performance in the match) "Yeah, it was a great game. I think both teams played their hearts out. Given the situation we were in, it was important that someone stepped up and showed character. I think everyone, especially towards the end, showed that.

(On the partnership between Shams Mulani and Yash Rathod) It's all down to Shams and Yash and the way they batted during that phase. We could have easily just rolled over. They [Australia A] were bowling some really good lines, and the wicket was definitely deteriorating. But at the end of the day, all credit goes to our boys. They really showed that they wanted to make sure we saved this game, and it showed in the end.

(On the message to the batters at the tea break) Not really. I think they knew what they were doing. They have played a lot of cricket and been in these situations before, especially in domestic cricket. They have gone through all this, and that's why they are here. They have that experience behind them, and they showed it.

(On the positives from the series) Yeah, definitely. There were a lot of positives throughout. Different people stepped up in different phases of the game, and that's what you want to see. Whether with the bat or the ball, everyone showed that they deserved to be here, and that's all you can ask.

(On the bowling performance) It's not the easiest of conditions for the bowlers. There isn't a lot on the pitch for them, but at the same time, I think they kept coming back and doing the things we asked of them. As a captain, if you have bowlers who are ready to give it their all, that's all you can ask."
Shams Mulani (Player of the Series): [on the day's play] "We knew that it will get tougher as the day progressed but we had that belief. Tushar showed it in the morning and gave us the hope.

[on his partnership with Rathod] We were just having a bit of fun here and there. Just tried to keep it as simple as possible. The plan was to keep on batting.

[on the difference between the pitches in the two Tests] The cracks widened up pretty big but still it held on pretty nicely. It was hard work to get the pace right and to get the spin but really enjoyed bowling here.

[on the mindset of the spinner] Just to keep things tight, to make them play the shots. That was my plan all along."
Player of the Series: Shams Mulani
Player of the Match: Sam Harper
Peter Handscomb (Australia A Captain): (On the team's bowling performance) 'Yeah, they've been accurate the whole time, sticking to their plans, changing when they need to, and adapting to the conditions. So, I couldn't ask much more from the spinners. Our quicks have been fantastic, and the boys in general have played pretty well.

(On India's performance in the final moments) We tried everything. Most guys got a bowl, and we tried a few different plans. I think credit goes to the Indian team. They played really well and stuck it out right to the end. Sometimes the opposition has a say, and today India were very good.

(On the experience of playing in India) It's great to come over and experience these types of conditions. It's an awesome learning experience for our guys, especially with the BGT coming up in a few months. Some of these guys are in contention for that, and coming here and experiencing these conditions is amazing.
