5:06 PM IST | Deepak: The winning streak continues for  Maharashtra and storms into the final for the first time in the history of the Vijay Hazare trophy as they crushed Assam by 12 runs in the second semi-final.🎯🎯 They will lock horns against Saurashtra in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.🏆 Maharashtra didn’t lose a single game in the Vijay Hazare 2022.👏👏

Prior to this, Maharashtra had achieved 350 runs in 50 overs after being asked to bat first and losing seven wickets. Ruturaj Gaikwad, the captain, once again put up a masterful performance, scoring 168 runs off 126 balls,🔥 while Ankit Bawne chipped in with 110 runs off 89 balls to assist his team in amassing 350 runs in 50 overs. Mukhtar Hussain was the pick of the bowlers for Assam as he scalped 3 wickets, giving away 42 runs in 9 overs.

In response to 350 runs, Assam didn’t get off to a good start as they lost Rahul Hazarika in the second over of the inning; he scored five runs off five balls. Rishav Das joined skipper Kunal Saikia at number three, and the duo started batting sensibly, but in the 11th over, skipper Kunal Saikia got trapped by Rajvardhan Hangargekar and departed after scoring 10 runs off 27 balls. The pair built a partnership of 53 runs for the third wicket. Riyan Parag came out to bat at number four, but he didn’t settle in the middle and departed after scoring 15 runs off 11 balls. He was soon followed by Rishav Das, who departed after scoring 53 runs off 49 balls.

Sibsankar Roy and Swarupam Purkayastha took charge of batting in the middle, and the pair started batting sensibly. They managed to add 133 runs for the fifth wicket as Sibsankar Roy departed after scoring 78 runs off 63 balls. Saahil Jain joined Swarupam Purkayastha in the middle but didn’t settle for a long time, as he departed after scoring 8 runs off 13 balls.

Swarupam Purkayastha batted well but fell just 5 runs short of his well-deserved century and departed after scoring 95 runs off 87 balls. Assam managed to score 338 runs at the loss of 8 wickets in 50 overs but fell short by 12 runs.

On the flip side, Rajvardhan Hangargekar scalped 4 wickets giving away 65 runs in 10 overs. Manoj Ingale scalped a couple of wickets and Satyajeet Bachhav, and Shamshuzama Kazi shared one wicket each for Maharashtra.

49.6 M Ingale to A Choudhury
6 High in the air and sails over the ropes. Banged in short outside off, Choudhury hangs back and smacks it straight back over the bowler's head for a maximum. Joy in Maharashtra's camp as they beat Assam by 12 runs to enter the final. They will face Saurashtra in the final of the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2022.
49.5 M Ingale to A Choudhury
2 Dropped!!!! Length delivery on the stumps, Choudhury slogs it high in the air and Gaikwad stationed at deep mid wicket moves to his right and drops a sitter. The batters complete a couple of runs.
49.4 M Ingale to M Hussain
1 Short again outside off, Hussain guides it in the third man region for a single.
49.3 M Ingale to M Hussain
0 Short delivery on the stumps, Hussain looks to pull it into the leg side but gets beaten by the extra bounce.
49.3 M Ingale to M Hussain
WD WIDE!!!! Ingale again bangs it short but bowls it way outside off and the umpire is quick to signal it wide.
