Mohammad Kaif | Winning Captain: "We arrived here and the facilities were brilliant. We started brilliantly, picking up a wicket in the very first over. I think the bowlers did a fine job as the surface was very good for batting. It is a very good start for us. It is important to get off to a winning start to any competition and am happy with the effort. Good to see the crowd coming in large numbers and supporting us."

Yusuf Pathan | Player of the Match: "The bowlers did a fine job to restrict the opposition to under 200. Irfan picked up two wickets in the over and helped us to restrict them. That gave us confidence that we will chase down this total. I tried to use my power and clear the fence."

Misbah-ul-Haq | Losing captain: "Credit to Yusuf Pathan for the way he batted. The form he showed and the way he hit the ball was sensational. Credit to all the bowlers as they bowled well without practice. There is always some disappointment but credit to the legends to step up and compete. No need to have a meeting as everyone knows what to do."

Game set and match, they take the win in this contest by 6 wickets and five balls to spare in the end. The true architect of the win was his elder sibling though. Yusuf Pathan turned back the pages of history and treated us to an absolute gem of an innings, 80 off just 40 deliveries. Things were looking bleak for the Indian Maharajas as they were struggling at 34 for three at the end of the powerplay.

He took the game head on and led them right through the chase. Mohmmad Kaif played anchor at the other end, stitching together a match winning 117 run stand for the fourth wicket. Earlier in the day, Kaif won the toss and elected to field first.

The Asian Lion started off positively and we saw Kamran Akmal, Upul Tharanga and Misbah at their absolute bests. The total seemed enough until Yusuf Pathan came out to the crease and bullied this attack.

The stalwarts of the game have entertained us thoroughly and brought a smile to our faces. It might be a cliche but the actual winner of this game were the fans as we witnessed our childhood heroes dawn their jerseys one more time; Smiles all around.

19.1 A Mahmood to M Kaif

4 FOUR!!! Kaif finishes off the match in style here and what a victory here for the Mahrajas' they were down and out at the end of the powerplay but they ends up winning that one in style. Fuller length from Azar Mahmood on the off stump line. Kaif uses his feet and he smashes that one over the midwicket off the front foot for a four here. The Maharajas' beat the Lions by 6 wickets.
