Sean Abbott(Player of the Match): "I'm over the moon, it's been an amazing week. My wife has been a super mum. Pretty sure my wife would have shared a few pics of my daughter in a Sydney Sixers onesie [on becoming a father for the first time this week]. After a week at the hospital, couldn't wait to get back out there. They batted unbelievably well and we had to come with another way. A lot of our bowlers bowled cutters into the wicket and that's effective on wickets that hold a little bit. On these glossier wickets, it's easier to hit through the line, you have to come with another way to be effective and put a pause on the guys who are going. I'm pretty fortunate to be a part of the Sixers environment for such a long time. We have a great group of lads. Grateful and happy for the opportunity that I have got. Stoked to have got so many wickets but not so many caught on the boundary, a few bowled and caught inside the ring would be nice" [on surpassing Ben Laughlin to become the leading wicket-taker in BBL history - now he has 112 wickets]
Sean Abbott has been awarded the Player of the Match for his 3-24 with the ball and 19 off 10 with the bat. An all-around performance from him.
It's over and Sydney Sixers have done it! A thriller but in the end Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott collectively did it for Sixers. A last over finish and an entertaining game of cricket.
Adelaide strikers were put into bat first and scored 147-8 in their 20 overs. A great start for them but they just couldn't keep up with the run rate and lost wicket constantly. Matt Renshaw, Wells and Thomas Kelly were among the few top scorers for them. 147 was not a par total and all the credit goes to Sean Abbott for his brilliant 3 for 24 in his 4 overs. But, the game changer of the match Dan Christian who picked up 3 important wickets in his 3 overs was a nightmare for Strikers today.
In reply, Sixers came out strong too and Josh Philippe, James Vince got off to a decent start. Moises Henriques at number 3 also scored 28 runs but a great innings from Jordan Silk who scored a brilliant 36 off 24 balls. A hinderance for Sixers in Rashid's last over after losing Christian and Daniel Hughes both but Sean Abbott came to the rescue again, 13 off the second last over and that made the difference. Hayden Kerr finished off in style with a mighty hit and Sixers will go home happy now!

Ayan: The Sydney Sixers hold their nerve to win a last-over thriller by 4 wickets with 4 balls to spare. Abbott and Kerr holding their nerve despite the fight shown by Rashid Khan with the ball. 3 points which will take them to 14 points and now they are at the top of the table on the virtue of a better NRR than Scorchers.
