5. Rohit Sharma - 102 Catches
The MI batting stalwart and former five-time IPL champion skipper, Rohit Sharma, has also impressed with this amazing fielding abilities. He has also been one of the most successful fielders in the tournament’s history.
Rohit has featured in 272 games since his debut in the inaugural season of 2008, representing Deccan Chargers Hyderabad in the first three seasons before joining the Mumbai Indians.
In these 272 appearances, he has taken the field on all 272 occasions, picking 102 catches, with the best performance of a maximum of three catches in a match. He is fifth in the list of the players with the most catches in IPL history.
4. Kieron Pollard - 103 Catches
The former Mumbai Indians stalwart Kieron Pollard played for his side in the Indian Premier League from 2010 to 2022, across 13 editions. He played 189 games for MI and took the field in all of these matches.
Pollard was also known for his amazing catching abilities, given his height of more than 6 feet and sheer dedication on the field. The Caribbean stalwart ended his career in the league with 103 catches, including the maximum of two catches in a match. He ranks fourth in the list of players with most catches in the tournament’s history.
3. Ravindra Jadeja - 109 Catches
The former CSK veteran, Ravindra Jadeja, has featured for four franchises in his IPL career so far. He has also made an unforgettable mark in India's fielding legacy, turning the tide of any match within a few seconds through his sensational fielding.
The fear of Jadeja’s fielding to this extent in the Australian camp was such that former head coach Justin Langer instructed his players not run when the ball goes anywhere near Jadeja on the field. In the same vein, Jadeja has also been one of the most productive fielders in the history of IPL.
Jadeja has 109 catches in 253 innings, equalling Suresh Raina in the list of players with most catches in the tournament’s history. However, Ravindra Jadeja is placed at the third spot, following Raina, as the latter has taken the same number of catches in 204 innings.
Notably, Jadeja has the best performance of maximum ‘four catches in a match’, the most by any fielder among the top five players with the most catches.
2. Suresh Raina - 109 Catches
The former CSK all-rounder, Suresh Raina, earned the title of Mr IPL for his heroics in the tournament during his 13-year-long career from 2008 to 2021. He represented the multi-time champions, CSK, and also played for the Gujarat Lions in the 2015 and 2016 editions.
Raina was known for his quick lightning fielding on the field, both in the internationals and in the IPL. He ended his career with 109 catches in 204 innings, including the best fielding performance of three catches in a match.
