Abhishek and Hasan feature in Asian Games Team of the Tournament [Source: AP, AFP]The final day of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya ended with a blockbuster finish between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. The reigning champions, India, who bulldozed Sri Lanka on their way to the final, got the better of their neighbours and clinched their second Gold medal in a row.Although the competition was rain-curtailed, the Asian Games 2026 also saw some exciting performances throughout. The pitches were slow and spin-friendly, so the spinners dominated the bowling charts, while the risk-takers with the bat had a say on the batting front. As India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka finish on the podium, here we analyse a brief look at the Asian Games 2026 Team of the Tournament.Top-Order: Abhishek Sharma, Sundeep Jora, Ishan Kishan (wk)India's star opener Abhishek Sharma couldn't go big against Sri Lanka in the semi-final, but much like the T20 World Cup final, he blew the opposition apart in the final. Abhishek's 61(28) with 3 fours and 7 sixes gave India a head start in a close match against Pakistan, where they subsequently won by 19 runs. He also picked 2 wickets in 2 innings.Sundeep Jora was the tournament's highest run-scoring top-order batter. The Nepal number 3 batted twice in the tournament and scored a valuable 34(35) in the win against Afghanistan and a swashbuckling 57*(32) against Japan to help Nepal finish top of their group.Ishan Kishan was one of the only two batters to score 100 or more runs in the Asian Games 2026. His fantastic 80*(46) helped India avert an early collapse in the semi-final and took the team to 169/7. He batted at 5 in the competition, but due to the lack of top-order performances, he slots in at his preferred number 3.Also Read: BCCI President Calls Pakistan 'No Competition' After India Win Gold In Asian GamesMiddle-Order and Allrounders: Shreyas Iyer (c), Hasan Nawaz, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Tharindu RatnayakeThe captain of this team will be Shreyas Iyer. The Indian number 4 did not fare too well with the bat, scoring only 34 runs in 2 innings. However, he was brilliant with his captaincy to bundle Sri Lanka for 45 runs, followed by a 19-run win over Pakistan in the final, winning the Gold for India.Pakistan's Hasan Nawaz was the tournament's leading run-getter, with 123 runs in two innings. Nawaz was the one who launched an attack against India in the final with 96 off 51, with 7 towering sixes to keep his team alive.Shivam Dube's 30 runs would not look like much at first glance, but his 27 off 15 in the final with two fours and two sixes changed the match. What puts Dube ahead of Tilak Varma in this team is his 2/33 with medium pace in the final, which was crucial after Ravi Bishnoi was having an off day.Axar Patel was one of India's most important players in their run to the Gold. Conditions were suitable to the spinners, and Axar made the most of it and picked 4 wickets, as the second-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He also provides batting depth to this lineup. The ambidextrous spin-bowling all-rounder Tharindu Ratnayake performed with both bat and ball to help Sri Lanka get to the podium. Ratnayake picked 2/32 and 2/18 in the semi-final and the 3rd-place match, respectively, while also scoring a match-winning 65 off 32 against Bangladesh.Bowlers- Arab Gul, Jasprit Bumrah, Pavandeep SinghAs mentioned above, the tournament was dominated by spin, so two of the three pure bowlers are spinners, while Shivam Dube is the second pacer in the side.Arab Gul from Afghanistan was one of their stars, despite a rather disappointing tournament. In two group stage games, the leg-spinner bowled 7.2 overs and picked 5 wickets at an economy of 4.20. His best figures read 4/8, and Gul was the highest wicket-taker of the games.Jasprit Bumrah makes it to yet another team of the tournament with his x-factor pace bowling. There wasn't much for the pacers in the tournament, but Bumrah bowled a brilliant 2/7 to give India an edge over Sri Lanka, followed by an important spell in a crunch situation against Pakistan in the final.Lastly, Pavandeep Singh finds himself in the elite company despite only playing one match. The Malaysian left-arm orthodox bowler bowled a crucial 3/11 (4) spell against Hong Kong to restrict them to just 81 runs and helped Malaysia finish at the top of Group B. Unfortunately, their QF clash ended in a washout.Asian Games 2026 Team of the TournamentAbhishek Sharma, Sundeep Jora, Ishan Kishan (wk), Shreyas Iyer (c), Hasan Nawaz, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Tharindu Ratnayake, Arab Gul, Jasprit Bumrah, Pavandeep Singh. Also Read: Shubman Gill Equals Dhoni, Ganguly and Yuvraj In India’s ODI Player Of The Series Chart
