6:11 PM IST & Local Time: Italy, with a scintillating performance, have beaten the UAE by a handsome margin of 112 runs. First, they outclassed Ireland and have now beaten the Asian side in both warm-up matches ahead of the T20 World Cup 2026.
After putting 193/7 on the board, the Italian bowlers were on fire. JJ Smuts got the opposition skipper on a golden duck, before Grant Stewart took the next three wickets in his 1.1 overs, and Ali Hasan got one more. At the end of the powerplay, Italy had half of the UAE side back in the hut.
Crishan Kalugamage followed up with bagging wickets one after the other. He scalped a total of three wickets in his four-over spell. For the UAE, Mohammad Zuhaib Khan and Muhammad Farooq showed some character with a 31-run partnership for the 9th wicket. It then lobs up in the air and the backward point fielder runs to his left to take a low catch. A commanding performance from Italy. They are definitely a side to watch out for in this ICC T20 World Cup 2026.
