That’s all from this one-sided contest, folks! For now, it’s me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of my colleagues Utsav Chandak, Mohammad Anab and Zeeshan Naiyer. CHEERS!
Kieron Pollard (Skipper of Pune Panthers): "Obviously, we were at the bottom of the table before the start of the game, so we had nothing to lose.

(On captaincy) Yeah, this is something that you enjoy with all the experience. This is what tests your mind, even in a legend's competition, it tests your mind for when you play around the world. And even if this is legends, you know that the young guys are watching and if you do something that is contrary to what you tell them, then there will be banter.

I am old somedays, I am young somedays. Yes, it is a legends tournament, but you don't want to finish at the bottom."
Martin Guptill (Legend of the Match): "It feels good to contribute again, especially after a couple of low scores following a fast start to the tournament. Getting time in the middle and putting in a solid performance was pleasing.

While the intensity in Legends League Cricket isn’t quite the same as some of the other leagues around the world, it’s still highly enjoyable. You’re not pushing yourself to the absolute limit in the field, but the competitive edge never really goes away—everyone wants to prove they’ve still got what it takes, and many clearly do.

Playing back-to-back games can be demanding, but the experience has been positive overall. The surface has been excellent for cricket, allowing batters to play their shots with confidence. The only real challenge has been the dew, which makes it tough for bowlers to grip the ball later in the evening. That said, it’s something players have dealt with throughout their careers, so you adapt and get on with the job like professionals."

Time for post match presentation.
Shikhar Dhawan (Skipper of Dubai Royals): " When you concede too many runs, you have to go all out while batting to get to the target and these things happen. All in all it was a really bad day for us in the office.

(On his fitness) My fitness is well maintained and I am really happy to have taken the catch and love to maintain the fitness.

(On the final game) We will keep the basics in mind as a batting unit we will look to take things deep. One man has to hang in and score 70-80 runs. Also, we need to improve our catching. If we had taken our catches, the target would have been much lesser. So, improvements are needed in every department."
10:50 PM IST, Local Time: A horrible batting display from Dubai Royals as they were bundled out for a paltry 89, suffering a humiliating 130-run defeat at the hands of Pune Panthers.

Earlier, Pune Panthers piled up a commanding 219/9 in their 20 overs, driven by a breathtaking century from Martin Guptill. After Dubai Royals skipper Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and opted to bowl, Guptill and Upul Tharanga began cautiously before the former took charge following Tharanga’s early dismissal. Guptill went on to smash 104 off just 45 balls, registering the second century of the league, while Shane Watson found form with a fluent 51 off 27 balls as the duo dominated the Royals’ attack.

Despite their explosive partnership putting Pune firmly in control, the Panthers suffered another middle and lower-order collapse, losing wickets in quick succession. However, the strong platform laid by Guptill and Watson ensured there were enough runs on the board. Parvez Rasool was the standout bowler for Dubai Royals, conceding just 23 runs in 3.3 overs while picking up two wickets.

Dubai Royals suffered a complete batting collapse and were bundled out for a paltry 89, succumbing to relentless bowling from Pune Panthers. The innings never gained momentum as the Royals lost wickets in clusters, slipping to 8/3 inside the first three overs.

Ambati Rayudu offered brief resistance with a counterattacking 36 off 22 balls, striking a couple of boundaries and sixes, but lacked support from the other end. Samit Patel (10) and Peter Trego (10) made modest contributions, though neither could convert their starts into anything substantial. Once Rayudu was dismissed, the innings unraveled quickly, with the lower order offering little resistance as wickets continued to tumble. The Royals were eventually folded for 89 in 13.5 overs.

Abhishek Sakuja led the charge for Pune Panthers with a superb four-wicket haul, while Ishwar Pandey and Samiullah Shinwari chipped in with two wickets each.

Stay tuned for the presentation.......
