The Delhi Warriors beat the Maharashtra Tycoons by three wickets. The contest swung like a pendulum as both teams' chances in the game hung in balance during several stages of the game. Arriving in the chase, Chadwick Walton gave a flying start in the opening over before Ayaan Khan had the last laugh on the final ball of the over.
Dale Steyn struck from the other end, picking up a couple inside the three overs he bowled within the powerplay. The pressure intensified as Praveen Gupta got the better of Obus Pienaar with the score 49/4 in 7.2 overs.
Subsequently, Sheldon Jackson counterattacked, scoring a fifty amidst a 58-run partnership. Seekkuge Prasanna followed suit in the 14th over before Irfan Pathan dragged the side from scrutiny. The Warriors fought bravely, bringing down the equation to 29 needed off 20 balls. Only three runs came in the next three balls, including Irfan's wicket. With 26 needed from 12 balls, Isuru Udana smashed a six and a couple of fours, curtailing it to 9 needed off six.
