Eoin Morgan (Rajasthan Lions Captain): "Yeah, delighted. Particularly after the performance in the first game. We managed to bat really well today. Naman Ojha and Suresh Raina were outstanding in the middle. They managed to set a platform for us. The tailenders added some valuable runs down the order. We managed to defend the score really well with only 2 seamers in the squad. It was always going to be challenging but it was good fun. Hopefully it kickstarts something for us.

(On his captaincy) I try and stay engaged with the scoreboard as much as I can. It tells you exactly the position of the game. Once you can figure out what the scoreboard is telling you, you can read the game better. We decided to bowl out one of our seamers early in search of wickets. Mithun took two wickets during a crucial period of the game. Full credit to everyone.

(On the tailenders scoring runs with the bat) Yeah, loved it. We will think of reversing the order in the next game (chuckles). Plenty to look forward to. Plenty to play for and hopefully some more fun in the upcoming games."
Bipul Sharma (Legend of the Match): "Yeah, thanks to god that I did well for the team. It always good to contribute for the team.

(On defending 171) As a bowling unit, we were confident to defend the total. First six overs were crucial and also the last four overs. We bowled really well. The fielding was amazing.

(On the surface) The wicket was really good for the batters but it was slightly on the slower side. We executed our plans really well and it worked out for us."

6:11 PM IST & Local Time: Time for the Post-Match Presentation!
Piyush Chawla (Dubai Royals Captain): "Well, we fielded really well in the first innings. We managed to restrict them to a competitive total but still I felt we gave away 15-20 runs more and that's exactly which turned out to be the difference.

(On picking up a hat-trick) Well, it's always good to pickup a hat-trick and especially when there is such a big reward for a hat-trick. Jokes apart, the ball is coming out nicely from your hand especially in the afternoon games. I am really happy with that.

Well, if you see all the bowlers did their job really well. It was a collective effort. We just leaked a few more runs which turned out to be the difference. The batting unit are doing a decent job as well but today we felt a little short."
5:59 PM IST & Local Time: The match went right down to the wire, but it was the Rajasthan Lions who held their nerve under pressure to clinch the contest by 16 runs. It marks the first win of the tournament for the Eoin Morgan-led side.

Earlier in the day, the Rajasthan Lions won the toss and elected to bat first on a fresh wicket but endured a stuttering start. Captain Eoin Morgan was dismissed for 2 in the third over by Fidel Edwards, and Samit Patel struck soon after by removing Callum Ferguson for 5. Naman Ojha and Suresh Raina then rebuilt the innings with a steady partnership, guiding the Lions to 43/2 at the end of the powerplay before Raina began to lift the scoring rate.

The momentum shifted dramatically after Rishi Dhawan broke the 72-run stand by dismissing Raina for 30. From a comfortable 95/2, the Lions suffered a stunning collapse, slumping to 114/8 as wickets fell in a heap. Dhawan went close to a hat-trick, while Piyush Chawla produced a sensational spell, claiming three wickets in three balls to complete a hat-trick. Just when the innings looked to be in ruins, Bipul Sharma (22* off 13) and Jesal Karia (31 off 18) combined for a vital 50-run stand for the ninth wicket off just 28 balls, lifting Rajasthan Lions to a competitive 170/9 from their 20 overs. Piyush Chawla (3/29) was the standout bowler for the Royals.

In reply, the Dubai Royals came out all guns blazing with Amit Verma and Kirk Edwards giving the chase a flying start. Amit Verma played an entertaining cameo before Jesal Karia cut short his innings, dismissing him for 22 off 12 balls. The Royals reached 49/1 at the end of the Powerplay with the momentum firmly in their favour. Peter Trego then found it difficult to get going and was dismissed for 10 off 14 balls in the ninth over, putting the brakes on the scoring rate.

Samit Patel and Kirk Edwards tried to steady the chase with a 37-run partnership off 25 balls, but the required rate continued to climb as wickets kept falling at regular intervals. Samit Patel departed at a crucial stage after a brisk 30 off 17 balls, and Kirk Edwards soon followed, walking back for 46 off 38 deliveries. Parvez Rasool then provided late fireworks with a blistering knock down the order, but his stay was brief as he was dismissed for 22 off 9 balls. Eoin Morgan marshalled his troops superbly, as the Rajasthan Lions wrapped up the Dubai Royals for 154 in 19.1 overs to seal a hard-fought 16-run victory. Three wickets apiece for Jesal Karia (3/21) and Bipul Sharma (3/28). Stay tuned for the Post-Match Presentation!
