Australia remains undefeated in the tourney so far. Firstly, the group stages, and then in the Super Six stages. They top with eight points from four games here. They will be finding their opposition next in the semi-finals. Meanwhile, the West Indies are not mathematically out of the contest. They will have to rely on Sri Lanka and Afghanistan's tally in their group.

That's it from this encounter. Arijit Kundu signing off along with co-commentator crew of Dev and Akshay Bhide, while Danish was the scorer of the game. Stay tuned to this network.
Oliver Peake (Australia U-19 Captain): “Yeah, it’s a great feeling to go into the finals undefeated. It was really good to come up against strong opposition today and properly test ourselves. It was also our first time batting first in the tournament, so it was important to experience those conditions and learn from them.

I think anytime you score 300-plus, you’re pretty happy with the bat. They came out really hard with the new ball when it was skidding on nicely, but as the innings progressed, it got more difficult to score. I was really impressed with the way we fought back - both with the ball and in the field.

Lachmund’s role today was huge. He went for a few early, but that’s his style - he bowls at full pace and if he gets it right, he’s always going to take wickets. This was probably the first time someone really came at him aggressively, but the way he kept his head and came back strongly in his second and third spells was very important.

That was supported really well by Hayden Schiller and Naden Cooray as well — I thought their spells were first class. Schiller, in particular, was outstanding. He didn’t miss his areas much at all. He always brings great energy and effort, and even after their fast start, he stayed composed, bowled some really good maidens, and kept applying pressure.

Looking ahead to the semi-final next week, there’s a lot of belief in the group. Going through unbeaten gives us confidence, but we want to keep playing the same way and stay grounded. The main message for us is to enjoy the moment - we’re representing our country at a World Cup.

Today, when they came out hard against us, the mindset was: this is exactly what you want. Playing against a side like West Indies, being tested, and seeing how we respond. And I was really proud of the way we responded as a team.”
Joshua Dorne (West Indies U19 Captain): "Well tbh, the pitch was really dry. So we they batter really well. We were 20 runs short. We bowled well in patches.

I was a little unlucky. In the powerplay, we let them slip away a Lil bit. Yeah, the fielding was again, not the best fielding away in the field-- we gave away some runs.

Well, I was just trying to stay calm. I don't think anybody was flustered on the chase. Maybe, probably, we would have felt better if it was on a winning cause. Well, umm, I don't think we did a bad job tbh. We probably look forward, in the upcoming tournaments, we look forward."
Oliver Peake (Player of the Match): “(About Will Malajczuk) Yeah, 100%. He’s done that all tournament, and it helps our middle order massively. Especially today, when the conditions started to get a little trickier as the game went on. For him to give us that kind of start really set the tone, and we were able to follow on from there.

For me personally, it was great to spend some time out in the middle. Our bowlers have been outstanding throughout the competition, so I haven’t really had many opportunities to bat. The guys at the top have been doing the job consistently. So to contribute today, especially before the knockout phase, was really pleasing.

It’s been a busy couple of years since the 2024 World Cup - playing with the Australian side, the Big Bash, match-winning innings for Victoria, Under-19s, A-team cricket - it’s been a whirlwind. But I’m not exhausted yet - there’s still more to give.

At the end of the day, though, it would’ve meant nothing if we didn’t win today. So I’m really proud of the bowlers for fighting back and getting us over the line.

And yes, having family here was very special. My grandma and grandpa, my mum, dad, and my brother were all in the stands today. They’re actually heading home after this game, so it was nice to be able to do something while they were here. They’ve been there through all the highs and lows, and I can’t thank them enough for their support.”
8:44 PM IST, 5:14 PM Local Time: AUSSIE AUSSIE AUSSIE, OYE OYE OYE!!! Australia marches onto the next stage undefeated. They remain undefeated after winning by 22 runs. Although the West Indies came close and offered a tough fight, they failed to deal with the pressure of chasing in the slog overs against the mighty Aussies.

Arriving for the chase, Tanez Francis and Zachary Carter got off to a great start with the bat. Despite the swinging ball, the left-hander counterattacked the Oz bowlers, setting up a 84 runs powerplay on the back of a 29-ball half-century. Francis played second fiddle during the 88-run opening stand before Charles Lachmund outfoxed him in the 12th over. 22 balls later, Carter departed for a 42-ball 64, spread with seven fours and four sixes.

Just when the Aussies seemed to make a comeback, Jewel Andrew and Joshua Done stitched an important partnership. The Aussie spinners checked runs in the middle overs but leaked fours in between. Coupled with some fielding botches, the Windies pair added 48 runs together before Hayden Schiller cleaned up Jewel for 44. Subsequently, Kunal Tilokani assisted the Windies captain to steer West Indies to 232/3 in 40 overs.

With ten overs to go, West Indies lost a couple of wickets quickly, including the set-batter Dorne, leaving the field for 62. Despite the adversity, the Windies 'lower-middle order milked their way, coupled with frequent fours. Eventually, the equation came down to 59 needed off the last five overs. Soon after, Shaquan Belle and Johnathan Van Lange switched gears, bringing the required graphic to 37 off 18 balls. Belle departed in the next over before Aryan Sharma conceded three runs and scalped a couple of wickets. With 26 to get in the ultimate over, the equation looked out of control for the West Indies tail as they fell short by 22 runs.

Previously, Australia were put to bat first during the toss. Openers Nitesh Samuel and Will Malajczuk offered a rollicking start, gathering 73 runs together in the opening stand. It was Rjai Gittens who enforced two quick wickets before Oliver Peake played a captain's knock.

Scoring 109 off 117 balls, the Aussie skipper was assigned by Alex Lee Young (45) and Jayden Draper (29) in a 69 and 47-run stand that propelled Australia to 314/7 in 50 overs.

Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.
