That's it from our end. Do join us tomorrow for the coverage, as we have three more matches scheduled for Monday in this U19 World Cup. Also, switch tabs to follow more action!

Till then, this is Arjun Bhalla, signing off on behalf of Mohammad Anab, Anirudh Modi and Danish Elahi!
Joshua Dorne (West Indies U19 Captain): "(On this win) The team is feeling very today with this effort. There are certainly areas to work on, we were brilliant with the ball, but the batters need to rectify their errors.

The upper middle order needs to apply themselves; they gave up their wickets after getting starts.

(On Micah McKenzie's spell) He was (really good today). I saw it coming for him. You know, he started the tournament by bowling really well when there was a lot of moisture in the pitches. But you know, today he came, he hit the strap from early on.

(On WI U19's fielding) There are areas to improve on, but the thing is, we need more focus and concentration from the guys. We need to be switched on when on the field.

Well, the thought was to trust the batting unit in the selection meeting. And we back the batters to come good in the following matches.

(On the plans for next game against AUS U19) We will look to work on the plans and the strategy is gonna be the same. We will travel to Harare and assess the conditions there."
Oliver Riley (Ireland U19 Captain): "I thought we bowled pretty well. I thought, in terms of quality, we held our lines pretty well and used our bumpers well. I was really happy with the total we managed to restrict them to.

(On rain affecting the game) That’s what hurts a little bit. I’m quite disappointed today, just purely from the point of view of how well we bowled and how well we started. I think we sort of let one slip away there. I think we had a really good opportunity to take that really deep, and I’m a little sad to see that go.

(On the Irish batting unit) That’s a good question. I’m not really sure. I think, especially for us, it’s just a bit of inexperience in big games like this — big chases. It’s sort of knowing that you probably have a little more time than you think you do, and if the ball is going well, you can potentially let that happen and try to take it deeper. I think we probably didn’t string together enough big partnerships to really put the pressure back on the West Indies at any stage after the first ten overs.

(On the surface) Not a whole lot, to be honest. I’d say they’re similar enough. It sort of does a bit early on, but then I’d say it goes the best. I think it spun a bit towards the end, and I think they made good use of that. It probably spun a little more here than it did back at the other ground.

(On preparation before the next game) Probably just taking a little bit more responsibility with the bat. And with the bowling, it’s still about keeping it nice and simple — hitting our hard lines and trying to be as boring as possible for as long as possible. I think we’ve shown we can hang, but we just need to try and string those periods together for a little longer."
Micah McKenzie (POTM): "I’m feeling pretty excited. You know, it’s not every day you really get figures like this in a match. Because sometimes you bowl well and you don’t get any sort of results. And then probably you wouldn’t have your best day, and you’d get a lot of wickets. I’m just thankful for getting four today.

(On changes made today in bowling) Well, you know, I went back to the hotel and I messaged one of the world’s best wrist spinners, Tabraiz Shamsi, and I asked a few questions. He gave me some advice — some vital advice and I implemented it in the warm-ups today. I spoke to the coach and he told me he had a very good feeling about the game today for me.

But this is just what cricket is about. He said, you know, every day won’t be like a day you take a lot of wickets, or you won’t take any wickets at all. I mean, just hearing what Shamsi had to say and what the coach told me this morning, I just went about it and didn’t think too much about what I was going to do today. I just went and executed."
Player of the Match: Micah McKenzie
9:00 PM IST, 5:30 PM Local Time: My, my! An unfortunate end to the game, and the West Indies U19 have beaten Ireland U19 by 25 runs on the DLS method. However, it was an effort and a half from the Windies boys, especially the two spinners, and their captain Joshua Dorne, for his brilliant changes and field placements.

It once looked like the Irish would take the game away, but the first rain turned the game in WI U19’s favour. The openers laid a perfect foundation for Ireland U19, but then they lost a bunch of wickets in quick succession.

Aadian Racha provided the maiden blood for the Windies, before the duo of Micah McKenzie and Vitel Lawes took over, removing the next three scalps in no time. With four down and 118 runs on the board, it started to pour down for the first time in the day.

The game was stopped for nearly 15 minutes, and WI U19 turned the game in their favour after that. McKenzie and Lawes bowled exceptionally well in tandem, and they didn’t let the Irish middle order take a breather. McKenzie ended his spell with four wickets, while two went Lawes’ way.

And as soon as the left-arm wrist spinner finished his bowling duties, it started to pelt down very heavily, which forced the umpires to call the game off. As a result, the West Indies won the game by 25 runs on the DLS method.

Earlier in the day, for the Windies, Jewel Andrew scored a vital 66 at the top of the order. Meanwhile, Johanathan Van Lange (28) and Racha (28) also made significant contributions, which took their total to 226 runs.
8:45 PM IST, 5:15 PM Local Time: According to the updates from Windhoek, it looks terrible out there, with rain pelting down. It would take a miracle for a resumption from this stage.
8:32 PM IST, 5:02 PM Local Time: What now?? The rain gods have decided to halt this play yet again. The covers are coming in quickly, as the players rush out. FYI - Ireland U19 are behind on the DLS par score. They still require 63 runs off 60 balls, while WI U19 are just three wickets away in this game.
After 40 overs, Ireland U19 are 164/7.
