Thatâs all from this enthralling contest, folks! For now, itâs me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of co-commentators Arjun Bhalla, Saptak Sanyal, and scorer/analyst Ghanendra Singh Thakur. CHEERS!
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Captain): "No, obviously, it was a great victory for us. The champion bowler did it for us. I think Fizz is a great bowler, and he knows what to do. It was a full team effort. If you need to win such games, everyone has to raise their hands. It is just a start; we need to build on the momentum from here. In T20 cricket, you need to have good powerplays both with bat and ball."
Mahmudullah (POTM): "It once again proved how unpredictable cricket can be, but the way Fizz held his nerve at the end was outstanding. It was very pleasing to finish on the winning side. It wasnât an easy wicket to get going on, so Malan and I just tried to hang around for a bit, and then Khushdilâs knock pushed us past 150."
Player of the Match: Mohammad Mahmudullah
Mohammad Mithun (Dhaka Capitals Captain): "Definitely, a hard loss. I thought it was our game, but cricket is such. I think Shamim's wicket turned the tables for us, considering they had Akif and Mustafizur's overs left. The ball was sticking out there, so I was asking my batters to let the ball come to them."
9:08 PM IST, 9:38 PM Local Time: PHEW! Outstanding death-over bowling from Mustafizur Rahman sealed a five-run win for the Rangpur Riders. At one stage, the Capitals looked set to cruise home, but the contest swung dramatically before tilting in Rangpurâs favour.
Earlier, Rangpur Riders recovered admirably from an early collapse to post a competitive 155 for 5 in their 20 overs. After being rocked by the early loss of Kyle Mayers (11), Litton Das (6) and Towhid Hridoy (0), the Riders were left struggling at 30 for 3 inside the powerplay. Dawid Malan and Mahmudullah then led a crucial counterattack, stitching together a 74-run partnership for the fourth wicket that dragged Rangpur back into the contest. Malan played a steady hand with 33 off 33 balls before falling to Imad Wasim, while Mahmudullah went on to anchor the innings with a composed 51 off 41 deliveries, finding the fence seven times. After Mahmudullah departed, Khushdil Shah provided the late flourish with a blistering unbeaten 38 off just 21 balls, striking four boundaries and two sixes to lift the scoring rate at the death. For Dhaka Capitals, Ziaur Rahman Sharifi was the most successful bowler with two wickets, while Imad Wasim, Saifuddin and Taskin Ahmed picked up one apiece. Despite a disciplined spell from Imad and Nasir Hossain, Rangpurâs middle-order recovery ensured they crossed the 150 mark after a shaky start. Dhaka Capital got off to a steady start in the chase with Rahmanullah Gurbaz (31) and Abdullah Al Mamun (20) putting together 54 runs for the opening wicket. The pair kept the scoreboard moving at a healthy rate before Kyle Mayers struck to remove Gurbaz and end the partnership. In the very next over, Abdullah also departed, as Dhaka lost both openers in quick succession. Saif Hassan and Mohammad Mithun then steadied the innings with a fifty-plus stand for the third wicket. However, Mithun did most of the scoring as Saif found it hard to get going and eventually departed for 15 off 24 balls. Shamim Hossain could only muster 11 runs off 10 balls and departed at a crucial juncture of the game. Mithun notched up his fifty and remained unbeaten on 56 off 38 balls, but Mustafizur Rahmanâs brilliant bowling at the end proved too much for the Capitals, as they failed to score 10 runs in the final over and fell five runs short of the Ridersâ total.
Mustafizur Rahman, Kyle Mayers, Aliss Al Islam, and Khushdil Shah picked up a wicket each for the Riders. Mustafizur, who had conceded 17 runs in his first two overs, made a strong comeback and backed himself at the death, giving away just six runs and taking a wicket in his final two overs â a spell that proved decisive.

1 RANGPUR RIDERS ARE HOME!!!! Sensational display of death bowling from Fizz. That's exactly why he is rated so highly.Mustafizur has defended 10 runs in the final over, as the Riders win this cliffhanger by FIVE RUNS. Heavy delivery angling away from just outside off-stump. Sabbir Rahman goes deep into the crease and looks to pump it over the bowler's head. However, he gets a top edge there. No one attempts for the catch... that's enough for the Riders. DC wanted a maximum to take this match into a Super Over, but Sabbir missed his chance. Just a single off the final ball.
