This is it from our side. Ishan Kishan's Jharkhand have beaten Rajat Patidar's Madhya Pradesh by just one run. Lots of controversies and drama to unfold later but for now, Jharkhand have made history. 9 consecutive wins for them and they have been undefeated thus far in the competition. This is Utsav Chandak, signing off on behalf of Mohammad Anab & Rajesh Pal. For all cricket updates, stay tuned with the CREX app.
Player of the match: Ishan Kishan
8:10 PM IST, Local Time: What a game we witnessed tonight. MP took it too deep and paid the price for it. Jharkhand win by one run in this nail-biting thriller. They continue their unbeaten winning streak in SMAT 2025.

After MP chose to field, the call appeared ill-judged in the early stages as Virat Singh and captain Ishan Kishan launched a fierce assault at the top. The opening pair punished anything loose, storming through the powerplay at breakneck speed, with Kishan in particularly destructive form as he found the middle and the boundary with ease.

Leading from the front, Kishan produced a breathtaking knock, hammering 63 from just 30 balls. He attacked the spinners with confidence, advancing down the track and swinging freely, sending the ball to the fence four times and over it on five occasions. With Virat Singh providing steady support, Jharkhand seemed poised for a score of 200+ as the openers established both a solid base and strong momentum.

The momentum swung when MP captain Rajat Patidar altered his plans, asking his bowlers to bowl cutters and slower ones.

As the pitch began to grip, Jharkhand’s batters found it difficult to adjust. Venkatesh Iyer exploited the conditions superbly, luring batters into mistimed strokes with deliveries that held up off the surface. Wickets fell in quick succession as attempted big hits were intercepted in the deep. Iyer emerged as the chief disruptor, claiming three wickets for 17 runs from his three overs, with Rahul Batham offering valuable support by giving away only 20 runs and striking once in his spell.

Around half of the Jharkhand batters were dismissed on a full toss.

In the end, Jharkhand managed a score of 181/9 as they lost a flurry of wickets in the death overs. In reply, Madhya Pradesh lost their opener Venkatesh Iyer (8) early, thanks to a brilliant direct hit from the mid on position.

However, it was the second wicket partnership between Harsh Gawli (61) and Harpreet Bhatia (77*) that turned the game around. They added 122 runs for the second wicket. However, after Gawli's dismissal, Jharkhand got a chance to come back in the game. They bowled superbly well in the death, while the MP batters failed to find boundaries.

After Gawli got dismissed, MP needed 42 from 25 balls, yet they couldn't win the game. In the end, they managed 180/4 and lost the game by a single run. A heartbreak for them, while yet another superb win for Jharkhand. Their bowlers couldn't manage a lot of wickets but bowled very well in the slog overs despite the dew factor.

What a turn of events here. Batter takes the review for the no-ball for height. However, the umpire has gone upstairs to check the run out. It's a combined review. It's not a no-ball for height. The replays show that it is a run-out. 'Out' loaded on the big screen. Review lost by MP. Jharkhand win by a solitary run. They continue their unbeaten winning streak this season.

1W Full toss outside off. Verma cuts it deep cover, takes a run and has been run out while returning back. GONE! Ishan Kishan's Jharkhand has been unreal. They have won 9 games on the bounce now and they have won an absolute humdinger of an affair. Verma has taken a review for a no ball. Is their another twist in the tale? This is a really close no ball call. I wouldn't want to be the TV umpire right now. TV umpire takes a decision in favor of Jharkhand and this is it. Jharkhand have won the match by a run. DRAMA! Absolute Drama at the MCA Stadium, Pune. Jharkhand have been victorious by one run. They are unbeaten. A historic run from Jharkhand, and the credit goes to the cool and composed keeper-batter from Jharkhand, Ishan Kishan.
It was a difficult one for the bowler to take on the follow-through. 3 needed from 1.
