That's all from us, folks! India continues their good start to the World Cup! We move on to the super six stage tomorrow! Join us as we bring you all the LIVE action!
Until then, this is Anirudh Modi, signing off along with my colleagues, Saptak Sanyal, Akshay Bhide, Darpan Tikiya, and Danish Elahi! See you at the next one!
Ayush Mhatre (India U-19 Captain):"There was simple plan. Balls were coming nicely onto the bat so just wanted to batted long. (On being asked if he hit the balls because of the rain threat)No no there was no plan regarding it. I just wanted to see the ball and it was coming good onto the bat. Bowlers had a plan to bowl good bouncers. They executed the plans well. The coaches are really good. We are getting some lovely meetings and I am happy for them. They are not over confident."
Tom Jones (New Zealand U-19 Captain): "Firstly the credit goes to the Indian bowlers. They have been outstanding in Under 19 cricket over the past few years and today was no different.
I think we certainly we will not make excuses. Yes it is a bit disappointing the way we played today. We still believe we will do well in the Super Six although we are going there playing just one game."
RS Ambrish (Player of the Match):"Yes the batting unit have done well. Vaibhav had a great start, followed by Mhatre was good.
We had a plan before to hit the top of off. We stuck to it. With some odd bounce off the deck, it would've worked. We had a sharp fielding to support that.
I just want to contribute to my team with both bat and ball."
Player of the Match: RS Ambrish
7:33 PM IST, 4:03 PM Local Time | India U19 blow New Zealand U19 out of the "water" to register a comprehensive victory in the final group stage encounter! The Men in Blue outclass the Kiwis by 7 wickets (via DLS) to finish top of Group B with 3 wins out of 3 matches.
After a delayed toss due to a wetfield, India won the toss and put the Kiwis into bat! A rain stoppage in the powerplay, and the game was reduced to 37 overs-a-side. On the back of an incredible bowling performance led by RS Ambrish's 4/29 from 9 overs, and Henil Patel's 3/23 from 7.1 overs, India dismissed New Zealand for 135 in 36.2 overs!
For New Zealand, Callum Samson was their best batter with an unbeaten 37 runs off 48 balls. Selwin Sanjay's 28 and Jacob Cotter's 23 were the only other 2 scores to cross the 20-run mark. Khilan Patel, Mohamed Enaan, and Kanish Chouhan picked up a solitary wicket each to round off an incredible bowling effort from India.
Come the chase, New Zealand U19 had early hope when Clarke dismissed George for 7 runs. However, skipper Ayush Mhatre came out all guns blazing, and along with Vaibhav Suryavanshi smashed a 76-run partnership to break the back of this chase.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi eventually fell for 40 runs off 23 balls when he miscued a ball from Selwin Sanjay high in the air for Clarke to take a good catch to complete the dismissal. Ayush Mhatre continued to smash the bowlers to all areas as he registered a quickfire 53 runs off 27 balls to become India's top scorer on the day. Jaskaran Sandhu dismissed the Indian skipper, but it was nothing more than a consolation wicket.
Vedant Trivedi (13)* and vice captain Vihaan Malhotra (17)* stayed until the end to ensure India cruised to an easy victory.
For New Zealand, Sandhu, Clarke, and Sanjay picked up a wicket each, but there was not much else to talk about from their perspective in this match. They qualify 3rd in the group, and move onto the super six stage, but they will need to perform a lot better if they want to make it to the semi-finals.
India, meanwhile, looks imperious in the World Cup so far, and will look to continue their winning streak in the super six stage.

1 India U-19 have ruled the roost in this rain-curtailed game and have won it by 7 wickets and with 141 balls to go. They have finished the group stage at the top of the table and remaining unbeaten. Good length at the off stump and it turns in. Vedant tucks it to the right of square leg for a single and that's the winning run.
