That marks the end of our coverage from this Under-19 World Cup fixture between Pakistan U-19 and Scotland U-19. Pakistan bundled Scotland out for 187 and comfortably chased down the target with 41 balls left and by 6 wickets.
For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Mohammad Anab and the scorer/analyst of this game Sahil Khan. Switch the tabs to follow our coverage of the other games going around across the globe.
Farhan Yousaf (Pakistan U19 Captain): "All the guys played very well in this game. We lost the last game, but the management backed us. The management is very supportive and very good, so the boys gave 100 percent in this match.
(On the side's bowling attack) Yes, we have a lot of pace bowlers. The bowlers performed very well in the last match and this match. All the bowlers are very good and very pacey, and I really enjoyed seeing them bowl in this match.
(On the stand between Usman and Ahmed) Yes, itβs a very good sign for the next matches because Ahmed and Usman are the backbone of the team. So I really appreciate it. When we lost early wickets, I thought we might collapse at the top, but we recovered well, which is good for the next match."
Thomas Knight (Scotland U-19 Captain):"Yes it is never ideal to finish on the wrong side. But the fight we showed with the ball was good. We showed that we can take the game to the deep.
The idea was to restrict, restrict and restrict. Bowl dot balls and concede singles occasionally to build the pressure and get the wickets. The idea was to take it as deep as we could and if we get a chance to win the game, that would've been great for us.
It was tough. They are much quicker than any of us have ever faced. But I think the way a lot of us stood up summarizes how good we are as a unit. We did well with the ball too.
(On improvements ahead of the next game) Just maybe a little bit more with the bat maybe. We got a few good starts but making those to 70 or 80 can make some difference. But we can be happier with the way we went in the second half."
Usman Khan (POTM): "We lost early wickets and then we planned to take singles and doubles. After getting set, we started playing our shots and punished bad deliveries.
(On partnership with Ahmed Hussain) We had a simple plan. We had a belief in our process. I had a chat with Ahmed Hussain and said that we have to take the team through, as we were set on the wicket.
(On improvement needed in the batting unit) Our batting unit is good. We are working on our processes. Our practice is going on during the rest days. Our camps were set up for a while ahead of this World Cup. I am confident that our team will do well in this edition of the U19 World Cup."
Player of the Match: Usman Khan
8:12 PM IST and 4:42 PM Local Time: After starting their U-19 World Cup campaign with a defeat against the England team, Pakistan have defeated Scotland by 6 wickets and with 41 balls to go to keep themselves in a better position in the points table.
Ali Raza breathed fire with the new ball for Pakistan after his team sent Scotland to bat first. Raza removed Theo Robinson and Max Chaplin for cheap scores. But the Scottish skipper Thomas Knight steadied the ship with Rory Grant by his side. They added 47 runs for the 3rd wicket before Grant got out for 21. Finlay Carter didn't contribute much but Ollie Jones played a good second fiddle to his skipper. Jones and Knight added 40 for the 5th wicket but Scotland lost both of them in a short interval. Knight got out for 37 off 72 but Jones scored faster for his 30 off 35 balls. Finlay Jones contributed 33 runs off 56 balls with Manu Saraswat who hit a maximum on his way to score 25 off 36 balls. Their cumulative contribution led the team score to 187 before they got bundled out.
Ali Raza was the star of the show for Pakistan picking up 4 wickets for 37 runs in his 10 overs. Momin Qamar picked up 3 wickets for 46 runs. Mohammad Sayyam and Abdul Subhan contributed with a wicket each.
Pakistan came out to bat and they got off to a very very sedate start. Sameer Minhas was playing his shot but got out for 28 off 30 balls hitting 3 boundaries. Ali Hassan Baloch, his opening partner hung around for 33 balls but scored only 15 before Ollie Jones uprooted his off stump. Usman Khan JNR and Ahmed Hussain took the onus then.
The duo of of Usman and Hussain initially focused on defending good balls and playing out the tough condition. Usman came out of shell whenever he got anything loose but Hussain decided to hold back. They complemented each other's approach very well and then Usman escalated the run rate. He got to his fifty and became the only half-centurion of this match. He got the player of the match award for his 75 off 85 balls. Ahmed Hussain tried to finish the game off with a reverse sweep but hit it straight to the fielder to depart scoring 47 off 92 balls. Skipper Farhan Yousaf remained unbeaten on 18 off 11 balls and finished the match with a boundary.
For Scotland team, Ollie Jones and Manu Saraswat took a couple of wickets each.

4 FOUR!!!! Skipper Farhan Yousaf hits the winning runs and Pakistan U19 have won this game by six wickets with more than six overs to spare. The side registers its first win of this edition of the U19 World Cup. Coming to the ball. Right arm over. Flighted delivery. Fullish outside off. Tries to slog it by going forward and down on a knee. Gets a thick outside edge and the ball goes in the air and behind the backward point for a four.
