That's it from our end. The first game of the day is over. See you in the next one, which is between Dhaka Capitals and Rajshahi Warriors.
Till then, this is Arjun Bhalla signing off on behalf of Mohammad Anab and Sahil Khan.
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Sylhet Titans Captain): "I think Rangpur is a very good team. We still have one game to go; we will qualify, but we are looking for the top two. Bowlers bowled brilliantly; all of them read the conditions.
(Parvez Hossain) Emon has been a brilliant talent. He had to bat at number four, but he loves opening the batting.
Thanks to the whole crowd."
Nasum Ahmed (POTM): "Just kept my plans simple. Luckily, I got the wickets today. I enjoy bowling against the lefty batters as well. Look to use the arm deliveries against them."
Player of the Match: Nasum Ahmed
Time for post-match presentations...
Nurul Hasan (Rangpur Riders Captain): "I think we lost in the powerplay in the first innings. Once, we lost early wickets, then after that, we just failed to stage a comeback. We are still looking for our best combination. I think we need to rectify some things in our team, find out ways to address issues and hope to come back strongly. We have a few days of rest now. We need to come back after that because we don't have any other choice."
3:46 PM IST, 4:16 PM Local Time: A clinical day at the office for the Sylhet Titans, as they have beaten the Rangpur Riders fair and square in this low-scoring contest. Nasum Ahmed & Moeen Ali's impressive bowling effort ruled the charts in the first innings, before Parvez Hossain Emon's unbeaten half-century sailed Sylhet home.
The Titans were impeccable from the word go. The bowlers never let the Rangpur batters take a breather in the first innings. The spinners turned out as the showstoppers, with Nasum Ahmed taking a three-wicket haul and Moeen snapping a two-fer. Shohidul Islam also bagged a three-fer, while Salman Irshad took a wicket. As a result, they summed up the Rangpur innings for 114 runs.
Chasing it down, Parvez Hossain Emon and Tawfique Khan laid a perfect foundation. The latter gave them a fiery start, while Emon played a second fiddle to him. They shared an opening stand of 54 runs, before Sufiyan Muqeem removed Tawfique on 33.
Ariful Islam and Emon continued to bat over for the Titans with a 26-run stand before the opener had another important partnership of 31 runs with Afif Hossain. Both Afif and Ariful played crucial parts, but it was Parvez Hossain Emon's unbeaten 52 that sealed the deal.
