That’s all from this contest, folks. Sylhet Titans’ bowlers produced a strong comeback in the second half of the innings to seal a 20-run victory. Time to wrap up this coverage, folks! For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off on behalf of co-commenators Mohammad Anab, Arjun Bhalla, and scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. CHEERS!
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Sylhet Titans Captain): "Yes, we are happy. After losing the last game, it's good to have a win today. Moeen Ali did really well. He scored a lot of runs in the 19th over. I knew that if we played well, then we would win the match. A great moment for the team. We were struggling in our batting at the top of the order but Parvez Emon played really well today. We believed in his skills. Our death bowling was very good too today."
Moeen Ali (POTM): "The spinner came on and I had no choice but to go after him. It was nice to come in and make a difference. Sometimes the situation demands that you attack from the outset, and when the spinner came on, I was able to do that."
Player of the Match: Moeen Ali
Time for post-match presentations...
Mohammad Mithun (Dhaka Capitals Captain): "First of all, I feel very sorry. It was my biggest mistake to ask Nasir Hossain bowl the 19th over. I shouldn't have bowled Nasir. He bowled really well in his first three overs. I thought the ball is gripping and it will help him but the decision turned out to be wrong. I should give credit to the Sylhet Titans' bowlers. They bowed really well throughout the middle over. We will work hard and will try to come very strongly."
9:15 PM IST, 9:45 PM Local Time: Sylhet Titans sealed a comprehensive 20-run victory over Dhaka Capitals, thumping them after a strong bowling display in the second half. Dhaka had looked well placed during the powerplay, but their batting collapsed badly later in the chase.
Earlier, Sylhet Titans posted a hefty 180/6 in 20 overs, built around strong middle-order contributions after a steady start. Parvez Hossain Emon (32) and Tawfique Khan (17) put on 48 for the opening stand, before Ariful Islam Jony anchored the innings with a fluent 38 off 29 balls. Azmatullah Omarzai then provided momentum with a brisk 33 off 23, adding a vital 62-run partnership with Ariful to take Sylhet past 130. The late flourish came from Moeen Ali, who smashed 28 off just 8 balls, including three sixes, while Ethan Brookes (9*) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (7*) chipped in at the death to lift the total to 180. For Dhaka Capitals, Ziaur Rahman Sharifi (3/35) was the standout, while Imad Wasim, Nasir Hossain, and Saif Hassan picked up a wicket each. In reply, Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Abdullah Al Mamun gave Dhaka Capitals a brisk start, scoring freely from the outset and racing to 56 for the first wicket. Mamun’s explosive 24 off just 11 balls came to an end when he was dismissed by Ruyel Miah, breaking the opening stand. Nasir Hossain (3) and Shamim Hossain (1) departed cheaply as Dhaka Capitals lost two quick wickets, and although Rahmanullah Gurbaz brought up his fifty, he failed to push on and was dismissed for 51. That breakthrough opened the floodgates for Sylhet Titans, who struck at regular intervals and never allowed the Capitals to mount a comeback, eventually restricting them to 160/8 in 20 overs. Salman Irshad starred with the ball for the Titans, claiming 3 wickets. Moeen Ali chipped in with a couple of wickets, while Azmatullah Omarzai, Nasum Ahmed, and Ruyel Miah celebrated a solitary wicket.
