Games are coming thick and fast in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025-26, with Dhaka Capitals fighting off against Rangpur Riders at the Sylhet International Stadium in Sylhet on Tuesday (December 30).
The Rangpur Riders opened their campaign with a massive victory over the Chattogram Riders. Bowling first, they didn't have the best of starts as the Royals were once going all blazing at 45/1. However, then came Faheem Ashraf, who turned the game on its head. He bagged a five-wicket haul and restricted the opposition to 102 all out.
Later, Dawid Malan (51) and Litton Das (47) almost chased down the target, sharing a 91-run opening stand. However, the Riders lost three wickets in a quick span. Eventually, they went over the line in 15 overs.
On the other hand, the Capitals, who lost their opening clash, turned the tables around with a win in their previous outing. Bowling first against the Rajshahi Warriors, they had a terrific time. Imad Wasim (3/16) and Nasir Hossain (2/32) were the pick of the bowlers, as the opposition ended their innings on 132/8.
Chasing it down, Abdullah Al Mamun revived the innings after the team lost two early wickets. The number three batter scored an emphatic 45, while Sabbir Rahman (21* off 10) and Shamim Hossain (16* in 13) provided the finishing touches. As a result, DC won the game by five wickets with seven balls to spare.
