Phew! What a nerve-racking contest in the BPL, and we’ve already witnessed so much in just two days of the tournament — a century, a hat-trick, and a thrilling finish. That’s exactly what cricket fans would hope for. Sylhet Titans clinch a nail-biter by just one wicket off the final ball to register their first win of the season. We hope you enjoyed our ball-by-ball coverage — it’s time to take a break from here. We will meet again. For now, it's me, Deepak Prakash, signing off along with my colleagues Arjun Bhalla, Mohammad Anab, and Ghanendra Singh Thakur. BYE BYE! 👋
Mehidy Hasan Miraz (Sylhet Titans Captain): "It was a tough game. Everybody was on their feet in the final overs. We played some loose strokes in the death overs, credit to Mehedi Rana. However, Brookes played two timely strokes. There was certainly pressure as we wanted here in front of the home crowd. Thank you so much, thank you everybody!"
Khaled Ahmed (POTM): "I wasn’t good yesterday, so today I told my captain to give me the new ball in the powerplay. I was very confident. I keep telling myself to believe — I even wrote it on my shoes. I stayed focused and bowled stump to stump. That was a crucial moment. I tried to hit at least one six, but it didn’t come off. Still, it’s the first time, and in the end, we won the match."

Shykat Ali (Noakhali Express Captain): [As translated by the presenter] "We felt that we were a bowler short, but it was a great game of cricket. We have had our learning from this game. We will look to make a comeback."
The last-over drama👇

Sabbir Hossain was handed the responsibility of bowling the final over and began brilliantly, delivering two consecutive dot balls to put Ethan Brookes under immense pressure. However, he then lost control of the wet ball and bowled a beamer, allowing Brookes to swing freely on the free hit and smash a six, followed by a four, which brought the equation down to just two runs off two balls.

The game swung wildly right till the end. Brookes then slipped while attempting a run, and the keeper hit the stumps with a direct throw to run him out, leaving Sylhet needing two runs from the final delivery. Sabbir Hossain failed to hold his nerve in the tense situation and bowled a wide before the batters sneaked a leg bye off the final ball to take the Titans over the line.
9:39 PM IST, 10:09 PM Local Time: PHEW! What looked like a comfortable victory turned into a nail-biter, but Sylhet Titans managed to hold their nerve to register their first win of the season. They win by just one wicket on the final ball of the match and grab two important points.

Earlier, Noakhali Express recovered from a dreadful start to post a fighting 143/7, thanks to a brilliant unbeaten 61 from Mahidul Islam Ankon and a quickfire 29 from Jaker Ali. Reduced to three wickets inside the first two overs, the Express were under heavy pressure before a crucial 66-run stand for the sixth wicket helped them claw their way back into the contest.

Sylhet’s bowlers had earlier dominated, with Khaled Ahmed leading the charge with impressive figures of 4/23, while Saim Ayub claimed two wickets and Mohammad Amir picked up one. Despite their early control, Sylhet were unable to prevent Ankon and Jaker from lifting Noakhali to a respectable total.

Chasing 144, the Titans were cruising for most of the innings thanks to a superb 83-run stand between Parvez Hossain Emon (60 off 41) and Mehidy Hasan Miraz (33 off 37), which put them firmly in control after losing both openers cheaply. With just 35 needed from 30 balls and set batters at the crease, Sylhet looked well on course for a comfortable finish. However, Mehedi Hasan Rana (4/34) flipped the match on its head with a stunning hat-trick in the 18th over, ripping through the batting order and dragging Noakhali Express back into the contest. What had been a straightforward chase suddenly became tense, with the equation dropping to 19 off 12 balls, and then 13 off the final over with just two wickets in hand.
