That's it from our coverage of match number 5 in the Women's Premier League 2025! A staggering performance from the RCB bowlers then an attacking innings from Grace Harris and her partnership with Smriti Mandhana lit the DY Patil Stadium! The former champions now find themselves at the top of the points table and would look forward to hold onto their position further in the tournament.

Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator AkshayaKrishna Polya, scorer Raju Khariya and statistician Aman. Stay tuned for more action from around the world! Good night!
Grace Harris (Player of the Match): "It's pretty good. I am loving my time at RCB. It's a great setup. Really loving my life at the moment.

I did kinda think I will face the older ball so I was preparing for the change ups and for the death overs. I got to know that I will be opening with Smriti who is so classy and so calm. It's a great reminder watching her that you don't have to overhit the ball. She is so technically correct.

I haven't named this bat yet. I could name it after an Indian burger. It's got a good middle so far. So far so good.

I think you have to take advantage of the very good conditions in the 2nd innings. On this ground you do want to bowl first which is a little advantage. The other game was 200 versus 200. Full credit to our bowlers for keeping them down to 144 which makes a chase like that a little bit easier at the back of your mind. Kate Cross said it earlier on TV."

Smriti Mandhana (Royal Challengers Bengaluru Captain): "It was the best seat in the house for me. The way everyone bowled and executed the plans was really special to watch.

Lauren wasn't letting anyone touch the ball in the powerplay. That's how you want to start your bowling innings after winning the toss.

We were not really on point in the first match in terms of the field sets. We executed the plans despite the left-right combination throughout the 20 overs.

All I need to do is take a single and give strike to Grace Harris. It's her own thing to do. Shafali, Grace all these players you just have to give them a single and they will do the job.

We had a little bit of discussion on the batting order. Grace bats in the middle order for Australia but opens for Brisbane Heat. She can take the match away from opposition. We thought of backing her in the powerplay and she did the job for us in the first innings as well.

One thing I heave learnt at RCB is not to speak too ahead of yourself. Just put your hardwork in and this is the most hardworking group we have got in the last 3-4 years. Let's see how it goes around."

Lauren Bell (Royal Challengers Bengaluru): "It has been good. Feeling in good rhythm, and it is coming out nicely. Great start to the tournament with 2 wins.

(On weather) Sure! It is a lot warmer here than back home (smiles). I want to start the game and set the tone. Not something I have quite nailed for England. Something I have practised back home.

(On Anya Shrubsole's role as bowling coach) I have worked with her for a few years now. She is super calm and brings clarity. She's been great to work with. And, yeah, it's been nice. It's been a few years now, so it's been good to have her back.

I am definitely flexible. Cricket is one of those games you cannot predict. If it is swinging, I can have an impact in the powerplay. Every game is different. We know that cricket can change, and the conditions can change."
Meg Lanning (UP Warriorz Captain): "No, of course, not! We hoped to start with a win or two. We were outplayed by RCB tonight. Not our best night. They bowled well up front and put us under pressure. Then never let us in the game with the bat. So, plenty to work for us. The good thing is that the games are coming thick and fast. So, we will move on pretty quickly.

Yeah, you are right. It can be a good thing in a lot of ways. There are some things that we need to tidy up. With the bat, we never got going, unfortunately. We chewed too many dot balls up front, including me. We need to be better there. Don't want to take anything from RCB. They bowled extremely well up front and never let us get away. They were excellent up front, and once they got ahead, they really drove the game home. We’ll review it, see what we can improve, and move forward.

(On Shikha Pandey bowling cross-seam deliveries to Mandhana and Harris with the new ball) Ah! I guess, maybe she (Shikha Pandey) tried to get something out of the wicket. Not sure, though. Shikha is one of the best bowlers in this competition, and she mixes it up. Sometimes trying to get swing, sometimes hitting the pitch harder to get something off the surface. It didn’t quite come off tonight, unfortunately, but that happens. We will have a chat later with her about it.

(On Grace Harris) It's pretty difficult when she (Grace Harris) gets going. She plays all around the ground. Tonight, she also showed how well she can play straight down the ground. Once she gets into that rhythm, she’s hard to stop. She has brute force. Unfortunately, she got going tonight. We couldn't stop her. As I said, generally, RCB played well."
