Well, we haven’t just witnessed a thriller here but also a night filled with some magnificent individual performances. Sophie Devine set the tone in the first innings with a stunning 95 off 42 balls, while Lizelle Lee responded with a superb 86 off 54 in the chase. Laura Wolvaardt was equally outstanding, playing a classy knock of 77 off just 38 balls to take the game deep. Add to that Nandani Sharma’s sensational hat-trick and five-wicket haul, and most importantly, Sophie Devine’s ice-cold final over where she defended just 7 runs under pressure.

This game truly had everything, with the pendulum swinging from one end to the other, as the Gujarat Giants registered their second win on the trot, while the Delhi Capitals suffered back-to-back defeats. Do join us tomorrow for Match Number 5 between the UP Warriorz & Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

For now, this is Pritam Dey signing off along with scorer/analyst Paras Yadav & statistician Aman as we brought all the updates of this clash. Stay tuned for more cricketing action from around the world. BYE BYE👋

Sophie Devine (Player of the Match): "Probably just relieved to be honest. I think 210 was a good score but with the batting line-up that Delhi had, the game was always in the balance. So, for us to get over the line by 4 runs is really pleasing. I am really happy for this group. We will take a lot of learnings from this game but in these pitches out here, 200-220 won't be enough for us.

I think the wickets have certainly played really well. You can trust the bounce and play your shots. It was a nice time there batting with Moons (Mooney) as we have played together for the Scorchers. It's nice to have that familiarity at the other end. These wickets are fantastic to bat on. The way Lizelle & Wolvaardt batted for them, we might expect some big scores in this tournament.

I have played for a while and I am just taking each situations as they come, trying to be really level with it today. That last over took the pressure off me in a funny way. They were the ones who had to score the runs. So, I think these things come with experience. I was just backing my skills and it worked well for me. It was good to contribute to this group."

Ashleigh Gardner (Gujarat Giants Women Captain): "Yeah, they are one of those games. The game was in the balance but when it was 60 needed off 4 overs you would be comfortable as a bowling side but here in India the ball flies in different parts of the ground. With 7 required off the last over, I think we stole that game. We have a lot of belief that we can win from any position.

To be honest, I felt like we were probably 15 runs short. We were in a fantastic position to almost score 230 or more. So, I guess that part was a bit disappointing but we knew that they had a lot of firepower in their line-up. We knew that 200 was a fantastic score but in grounds like this, you are always in the game. There were plenty of glimpses were we did both the departments really well but thankfully, we have two wins on the board.

(On the Indian talents) Absolutely. Overseas players make this competition while the Indian players win you the competition. The Indian talent within our side are pleasing to see. We have two left-arm off spinners in the team. And Anushka Sharma, save that four runs for her. We won by four runs and she saved four runs over there. So, we won because of her. It's just those small moments in the game where you need to try and win. Thankfully for us it was one of those moments."
