That is the end of our live coverage of the first game of the doubleheader in the WPL Season 4! UP Warriorz got close to the monumental target but fell 10 runs short. Gujarat Giants did just enough to seal a win and kick off the new season with a win after having lost all of their tournament openers in the last three seasons.

Don't go anywhere, as we are only a few minutes away from a cracking evening clash between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Capitals at the same venue.

For now, I am AkshayaKrishna Polya, signing off on behalf of my co-commentator, Ajay Pal Singh and scorer Manish Bishnoi. We will meet again. Until then, it is cheers!
Georgia Wareham (POTM): "Awesome start to the tournament. These tournaments are all about momentum. To get a win straightaway and to see everyone chip in on all facets of the game was good.

Pretty flat wicket. All the bowlers bowled well, but not many wickets for them to show for it. Probably, a bit of luck for me at the other end. Nice to get a couple of wickets.

I was pretty certain that it was pad first. Mooney was certain as well. Meg Lanning was a pretty key wicket then. Glad that I picked it."
Player of the Match: Georgia Wareham
Ashleigh Gardner (Gujarat Giants Women Captain): "A fantastic game for everyone who watched it. The wicket was a good one. At the halfway mark, ah, at the 12th over, we knew that we need at least 200 here. 200 is always going to be a competitive target. I think we fielded pretty well. I think that is the difference in the end. Plenty of learning is still needed with bat and ball.

Anushka is such a talented player. I saw her in the nets. Then to spend time with her in the middle was good. She is such a young player and to do such kind of batting, it was brave of her. It was really pleasing to be at the other end while she was batting.

(On giving Rajeshwari Gayakwad the over post second time out) Well, we were kind of searching for overs. I didn't bowl particularly well as much as I would have liked. We had plenty of bowling options and could throw the ball to anyone we wanted.

(On Litchfield) I played a lot of cricket with her and against her as well. She opens up the entire ground. It is quite difficult to set a field for her as a captain and as a bowler.

We had to take wickets which we did and nice to get the 'W' at the end."
