That's a wrap-up from this match. The league stage of the Under-19 Asia Cup 2025 is done, and now, we have knockouts ahead. Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator Tarun and scorer Dushyant Madhukar Kumar. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!
Azizul Hakim (Bangladesh U19 Captain): "When we were batting, the surface felt quite good, but there was a noticeable difference once we started bowling.

We were in a strong position and looked on course for around 280, so losing our last seven wickets and getting bowled out for 225 was obviously disappointing.

That phase really hurt us and changed the course of the game. As for the toss, I’ve been on the wrong side of it quite a few times, so I just try to focus on controlling what I can.

We’ll take the lessons from this match and look to come back stronger in the next game."
Vimath Dinsara (Sri Lanka Under-19 Captain): "The decision to bowl first was the right one, and we did well with the ball, but we couldn't back it up with the bat.

Powerplay was key, and that is where the Bangladesh side got an advantage as they scored big, and our side lagged in that phase."
Iqbal Hossain Emon (Player of the Match): "There was some help in the pitch, so my plan was to bowl a consistent length between five to seven metres and stay tight with my lines.

I also used the bouncer when it was effective, and when there wasn’t much help from the surface, I mixed it up with slower deliveries to deceive the batters.

I was confident about finishing the match, and I’m really happy that we managed to win the game."

6:10 PM IST, 4:40 PM Local time: Bangladesh Under-19 wins the game and Group B as well. Bangladesh Under-19 etched a resounding win as they defeated Sri Lanka Under-19 by 39 runs. Defying a modest 225, the young Tigers turned what seemed a low-scoring scrap into a masterstroke of dominance. Their bowlers and fielders played with the precision of a surgeon, leaving Sri Lanka bewildered and beaten.

The match script flipped fascinatingly. After batting first, Bangladesh thundered off to a blazing start, 75/0 in the Powerplay, Zawad Abrar leading the charge with a rampaging 49. A big total beckoned. But Sri Lanka’s bowlers, sharp and unyielding, slammed the brakes. Kavija Gamage’s spell was pivotal, chopping through the Bangladeshi middle like a hot knife, triggering a collapse. The Tigers ended up all out for 225, having tantalizingly failed to milk their full 50 overs.

At the break, Sri Lanka looked poised, target in hand. Cue a different ballgame. The Lankan openers couldn’t get wheels rolling
and were crushed under a blitz of pace from Bangladesh’s frontline attack of Emmon and Rijan. Pressure was a heartbeat, spinners tightened the noose, and the batters flailed. Their best stand, a 56-run partnership for the 10th wicket, came too late. Hilmy’s solo fight and Chamika’s 41 weren’t enough.

Bangladesh’s bowling was a symphony of might. Shahriar Ahmed and Iqbal Hossain Emmon grabbed three each, Samiun Basir Ratul nailed two, whereas Azizul Hakim and Saad Islam Rajin chipped in with one as well. A unit attacking with intent, swarming wickets at perfect moments. The result wasn’t just a win, it was a statement. The Tigers trumped their all-around firepower, leaving the day’s narrative unmistakable.

W OUT! DONE AND DUSTED! BANGLADESH U-19 HAVE DEFEATED SRI LANKA U-19 BY 39 RUNS! On the fuller side and around off. Nimsara clears his front leg away and tries to go inside out over covers. But the bat gets tilted at the time of contact, and it is chipped to mid off. The fielder gets across to his right a bit and pouches it. THE TIGERS HAVE DEFENDED 225 SUCCESSFULLY!!
