Milestone
Afghanistan dominated in their last game of this T20 World Cup. Batting class. Bowling clinic. Canada showed sparks. But Afghanistan lit the stadium. A professional dismantling. A statement performance.

Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentators, Ninaad Dixit, AkshayaKrishna Polya, scorer Paras Yadav, and statistician Aman. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But cricket doesn’t sleep. Plenty is happening around the world. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!!!!
Rashid Khan (Afghanistan Captain): "[on Trott's exit] We had some wonderful time with him in 4 and a half years. He has done a lot for Afghanistan cricket. Very emotional to see him leaving. We wish him all the very best and somewhere around the corner we see him.

[on the match] We were well prepared and played unbelievable cricket throughout. The South Africa game really put us on the backfoot. That's something which you can't do anything about. We did some great positive things. We will be well prepared for any ICC event.

[on improving] We need to improve with the batting in the middle order. We get stuck sometimes against big teams. In the death overs we need to work a lot as a bowling unit. If you play against bigger teams even bilateral series help us a lot, not just the World Cup. We have a strong top order but we need to improve in the middle order.

[message to fans] Thank you so much to everyone who came and supported us in Chennai, Ahmedabad and Delhi. We feel like playing at home. Thanks for supporting us wherever we go. Keep supporting us, we will try to play good games."
Dilpreet Bajwa (Canada Captain): (On camaraderie between players across teams) “Yeah, I think it’s a really nice aspect of modern cricket. We’ve played franchise cricket together, shared dressing rooms, and built friendships over the years. A lot of the players know each other well, and it’s always good to see that mutual respect and unity on the field.

(On what could have been done better) I thought we started well after winning the toss and choosing to field. But once again, finishing strongly was an issue for us. That’s something we’ve struggled with in this tournament, and it’s definitely an area we need to improve going forward.

(On the challenges during the chase) They bowled really well, especially their spinners. We knew they would be a tough challenge. Losing early wickets made things very difficult, particularly when you’re chasing a big total like that. It put us under pressure right away.

(On positives from the tournament) I think this has been a very valuable experience for our players. We’ve seen individuals step up and show that Canada has real talent. Players like Yuvraj Sumra and others performed well, which is encouraging. As a unit, we didn’t quite click, but there are plenty of lessons to take from this.

(On playing in front of a big crowd in Chennai) Chennai always has an amazing fan base. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the players really enjoyed the experience. We’re grateful for the support and the opportunity to play on such a big stage.”
Ibrahim Zadran (Player of the Match): "I enjoyed a lot. I didn't play better cricket in the first 2 innings which I expected from myself. Today was my day. I just wanted to back my skills and myself. I really enjoyed.

[on rising to the occasion] The pressure is there all the time. I want to put myself in and enjoy it. I was thinking to play positive cricket, focus on strike rotation and finish the bad ball to build partnerships and that's what I did.

I want to dedicate this award to coach Jonathan Trott. He has supported me and all the players. We have done very well under him. This is his last day with us. He taught me lots of things. I wish him all the best for his future. We will miss him a lot."

Ibrahim later hands the player of the match memento to head coach Jonathan Trott.
