Milestone
South Africa become the first team in this edition to head into the Super 8s without a single loss. The momentum is completely with the Proteas who finished unbeaten in the previous edition only to go down in the finals against India. That's it from New Delhi and from our coverage of this contest. Lots of more cricketing action coming up from the ICC Men's T20 World Cup and from all over the world as well. Ninaad Dixit here signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Akshay Bhide, scorer/analyst Raju Khariya and statistician Aman. Adios!
Aiden Markram (South Africa Captain): "[on testing the bench strength] That was what it was about. It was great to see the boys that came in and that have been working out for an opportunity to grab that opportunity with both hands. The bowling unit once again was really good in executing plans on that wicket and a lot of confidence for us as a group to know that each guy in the 15 is in a good space.

[on playing 2 Super 8 games here] It is slightly different. Today with the rain and interesting weather around, it played a bit different. A little bit tacky upfront but it was a morning game. Different time to bat, probably a bit less bounce but good to get a run out in conditions like these knowing that we come back here and I'm sure the boys will sort of realize what worked and keep that in the back of our minds for when we come back.

[on the dropped catches] Massively let ourselves down in the field today. Not up to the mark at all. You don't want to create anything mentally but not being switched on. We definitely let us down from our attitude point of view. Nice little lesson for us to learn there.

[on Super 8 oppositions] Fortunately we got a little bit of time before that first Super 8 game which is a great thing for the boys to be able to switch off a little bit and then regroup going back to Ahmedabad as well. We spent a bit of time there. It won't feel to foreign to us. It's about really zoning in on the things that we found work there and backing our strengths as a unit."
Muhammad Waseem (United Arab Emirates Captain): "[On the batting effort] Yeah, it's a tough outing for us as a batting team. I think we have to bat well in the middle part of the innings between overs 6 to 16.

[On what to do to challenge the big teams] We are a new team. We need to learn before moving forward. We need to bat well in the middle overs and bowl well in the last overs.

[On the positives from this tournament] Boys played excellent cricket throughout the tournament. I'm happy with the performances of Sohaib, Aryansh Sharma. I'm confident that they will keep improving moving forward.

[On the crowd support] Thank you so much to the crowd for supporting us. I think they are upset after this result."
Corbin Bosch (Player of the Match): "[Plan today] It was basic today. The wicket said what we had to do. There was some nip around. We fast bowlers communicated really well early on. As I said, I have got great guys in front of me. I get time to see what the batters are doing and what the ball is doing.

[Adapting to the conditions here in Delhi] I had a good outing yesterday in training. Some rain this morning quickened the wicket a bit and it helped me.

[On his variations] Today, I kept it really basic. Also, having Aiden as captain helps because he keeps me calm.

[On picking 100 T20 wickets] It's amazing. I can't believe that I got 100. But plenty more to do."

2:32 PM IST, Local Time: South Africa ensure they will finish on top of the Group D with 4 wins in 4 matches after defeating UAE by 6 wickets at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi. The bowlers set up the contest with a pressure inducing performance and the strong batting order ensured the chase was completed inside the 14th over.

South Africa won the toss and elected to bowl first making 4 changes to the lineup allowing the bench strength some game time. It was a fantastic performance with the ball restricting UAE to 122/6. Alishan Sharafu top scoring with a struggling 45 off 38 balls after skipper Muhammad Waseem (22 off 12) helped the team get off to a flier.

Left arm spinner George Linde bowled a fantastic spell of 1/17 but it was Corbin Bosch who stole the show using the surface well and claiming 3/12 in his 4 overs. Anrich Nortje on his return claimed 2/28 as well.

Rain arrived in the 2nd half of the UAE innings and delayed the beginning of the 2nd innings. Skipper Aiden Markram (28 off 11) and Quinton de Kock (14 off 16) started off well adding 32 in just 3 overs. Haider Ali was taken to the cleaners by Markram hitting 3 fours and a maximum but was cleaned up on the final ball of the over.

Muhammad Jawadullah trapped de Kock in the final over of the powerplay with the southpaw lofting a simple catch at deep backward point. Ryan Rickelton (30 off 16) and Dewald Brevis (36 off 25) added 49 runs for the 3rd wicket but lost their wickets in quick interval trying to raise the scoring rate and finish the proceedings early.

Tristan Stubbs and Jason Smith were present on the crease when the winning runs were scored in the 14th over. Muhammad Arfan (1/16), Muhammad Farooq (1/19), Jawadullah (1/20) and Haider Ali (1/33) were the wicket takers with Dhruv Parashar bowling two tidy overs (0/8) but a batting failure meant UAE finished their World Cup campaign with just one win and three losses.

Hang around for the post match presentation.
