Italy superior. Across phases. Across disciplines. Nepal, who challenged England earlier in the tournament, found themselves neutralized. Cricket’s reminder rings loud - momentum is match-specific. Reputation is temporary. Execution is permanent. Italy leave with confidence soaring. Nepal leave with lessons to absorb.

Until then, I am Dev Rajawat, signing off, along with my co-commentator Manan Mehta, scorer Raju Khariya, and statistician Aman. That’s it from our side. Thanks for joining. But there is one more match in today's fixture of the T20 World Cup 2026. Switch tabs, follow the fun. Goodbye from this tab! TAKE CARE! BREATHE AND SMILE! CIAO!
Harry Manenti (Italy Captain): "(Initial thoughts on the win) Yeah, it is pretty extraordinary. It is something that a lot of people in Italy and in this group dreamt of for a long time. When we qualified, that was obviously a special moment. However, our goal was always to compete in this top level and competition. We showed that today. We didn't quite nail it the other day but today we showed what the group is made up of.

(How did the team recover after losing Captain Wayne) It was obviously difficult to lose our captain, our leader in Wayne. However, the boys regrouped quickly as a unit. The last few days have been good. We are in India for a World Cup. The coaching staff has made it clear that we must enjoy what we are doing here. We did that. We enjoy each other's company. We have a meal together each night. We sit with each other on the bus. That is very important in a group and every team does that. We have brothers on our side, and I always say we have 15 of them.

(Thoughts on how the spinners bowled) Yeah, I definitely feel the spin factor was an element. We bowled well the other day in patches, however, today we had control of the game right through. Our spinners are class. We have seen Ben and JJ before. Crishan is a young spinner that the world has never seen before. I like that he has made his mark in this World Cup already.

(Thoughts on the Mosca brothers) Yeah, the two Mosca boys. We have played together for a long time. It is very special to see them dominate on the field like that. It has been pretty hard for them to keep going year after year without that end goal. We finally achieved it today with the win and a record partnership from the brothers. I have seen how good they are, but the world hasn't and I am glad they today have.

(Thoughts on the England challenge) England obviously is a tough game. So is the West Indies. However, Nepal was tough too in conditions more suited to them. However, we beat them and we are hopeful to challenge England and the West Indies. Every team is beatable on a day."
Rohit Paudel (Nepal Captain): (On where it slipped away from Nepal) "Yeah, I think Italy outplayed us today. Especially with the bat, we were not good enough. To be honest, this was definitely not a 123-run wicket. We knew it was a bit challenging early on, but still, we were aiming for something around 160 or 170. We just didn’t execute well as a batting unit, and there’s no excuse for that.

(On adjusting to these conditions) I think we didn’t respect the conditions properly at the start. It was a little tough early, and we probably played a few rash shots. From my perspective, I feel my wicket was quite crucial. We had a good partnership going at that stage, and things were looking stable. But once I got out, the momentum shifted, and that really hurt us.

(On how challenging it is to regroup the side after a strong performance in the last game) I don’t think pressure was the main issue. The boys are experienced, and we’ve played enough cricket together. But as a developing team, consistency is something we are still working on. After performing well against England, we expected a better outing today. Having said that, full credit to Italy -- they played really well and deserved the win.

(On the key takeaways from this match for your team) The key learning for us is to adapt more quickly and respect the conditions better. In T20 cricket, small mistakes can cost you heavily. We’ll reflect on this game, recover well, and come back stronger in the next match.

(On the mindset in the group as you move forward in the tournament) The mindset is still positive. One game doesn’t define us. We know our strengths, and we believe we can play good cricket. It’s about learning, improving, and staying confident."
Crishan Kalugamage (POTM): "Thank you so much to all the crowd and all my teammates. I'm really happy about the win, and I always want to help the team win the match and do my best for my nation, Italy. So I'm happy.

(What worked for him today with the ball) I've worked hard with my coaching staff also, and I'm really happy with my nine innings and three wickets. So it's a special moment for me after a lot of sacrifices. I thank my family and all the Italians who are watching the match, and all my teammates — they are my brothers — and the coaching staff. So I'm really happy."
