Player of the Match: Priyanshu Moliya
4:28 PM IST & Local Time: That’s the end of the match, and it’s been a dominant display from Baroda as they hammer Chandigarh by 149 runs. But is that enough to seal a quarter-final spot? It seems unlikely, with Vidarbha registering a big win over Assam in the other game.

Baroda won the toss and elected to bat, aware that a big victory was crucial to keep their quarter-final hopes alive. Their innings began on a shaky note as both openers departed inside the first three overs, with Nitya Pandya falling for 2 and Amit Pasi following soon after for 5. Priyanshu Moliya (113) then took charge at number three, anchoring the innings superbly, while Vishnu Solanki provided solid support. The duo steadied the ship with an 80-run stand for the third wicket before Solanki was dismissed for a well-crafted 54.

The middle and lower order then unleashed a brutal assault on the Chandigarh attack. Krunal Pandya couldn’t capitalize on his start, but a costly drop of Hardik Pandya proved decisive as he went on a rampage, smashing a sensational 75 off just 31 balls. Jitesh Sharma added to the carnage with a blistering 73 off 33 balls, while Ninad Rathva’s composed 38 ensured the momentum never dipped. Baroda piled on the runs to post a massive 391 in 49.1 overs, with Jagjit Singh (3/54) the standout bowler for Chandigarh.

In reply, Chandigarh struggled early as they lost wickets at regular intervals, with Shivam Bhambri standing tall as the lone warrior in the chase. He kept losing partners at the other end but found some support from Taranpreet Singh, with the pair adding 83 runs for the 5th wicket to show some fight. Taranpreet was eventually dismissed against the run of play by Mahesh Pithiya for 44.

Vishu played a handy supporting role, while at the other end Bhambri (100) went on to bring up his second List-A hundred before falling soon after. The Baroda bowlers then cleaned up the tail quickly as Chandigarh were bowled out for 242 in 40 overs. Hardik Pandya and Mahesh Pithiya picked up three wickets each, finishing with figures of 3/66 and 3/34 respectively, as Baroda sealed a commanding 149-run victory.
