So, that is it from myself, Karthik Raj and my co-commentators, Arjun Bhalla and Dev as we wrap up the coverage of this Qualifier 2 in the NPL. Do switch over to the 2nd T20I between India and South Africa or stay tuned for the ILT20 game between MI Emirates and Abu Dhabi Knight Riders.
Rohit Paudel (Lumbini Lions Captain): "Very very happy to have them as team-mates. We have built a family. They have gelled very well. We have built a very good relationship.

The way (Ruben) Trumpelmann is bowling in the Powerplay and the starts D'Arcy (Short) has been giving has been important. The tournament isn't over and there is one more game to go. There were lot of up and downs but to get to the final from that position, that shows the temperament of the team.

(ON Sudurpaschim Royals and the final) They have a good team, looking forward to it. Absolutely, Tilak (Raj Bhandari) and Abhishesh (Gautam) bowled really well as well."
Tilak Raj Bhandari (POTM): "During the first 3-4 matches, I bowled well but didn't get wickets to show up. Today, I got wickets, and I'm really happy about that.

A lot of credit goes to my captain, Rohit (Paudel) Bhai. The team management has shown a lot of confidence in him, thanks to them.

We have a friendly competition going on among the bowlers."

Time for the post-match presentation!

18:55 PM IST, 19:10 PM Local TimeLUMBINI LIONS ARE THROUGH TO THE FINAL OF NPL 2025. What a performance from the Rohit Paudel side with a complete team bowling effort helping them beat the Biratnagar Kings by 40 runs.

Defending 135, Ruben Trumpelmann got the Lions off to the best possible start by dismissing Martin Guptill and Lokesh Bam in the very first over. The Kings were soon reduced to 6/3 as Sher Malla bowled Faf du Plessis.

The Kings got to 28/3 at the end of the Powerplay and soon lost Shankar Rana to Tilak Raj Bhandari. Marchant de Lange was promoted to No.6 but the move didn’t quite work as the South African struggled to produce the big hits. Sam Heazlett was forced to accelerate and he holed out to deep backward square-leg off JJ Smit’s bowling in the 10th over. The Kings collapsed big time after that with the duo of Bhandari and Abhishesh Gautam cleaning up the lower-order.

Naren Bhatta fought for a while with a couple of maximums but it was too little, too late as the Kings were bowled out for 94 with JJ Smit dismissing him.

Earlier in the match, Subash Bhandari dismissed Dinesh Adhikari cheaply in the second over. The pair of D’Aarcy Short and Rohit Paudel ensured no further damage in the Powerplay as the Lions got to 44/1 at the end of six overs. The duo stitched a 50-run partnership and continued to bat nicely when Subash came back to castle Rohit in the 12th over.

Subash wasn’t done yet as he got rid of Short in the 14th over as well. From there, Sandeep Lamichhane and Pratis GC ran through the middle and lower-order. Niroshan Dickwella was the lone hope for the Lions but Lamichhane had him holing out to the deep in the 18th over. The Lions scrambled to 134/8 off 20 overs which proved to be a winning total in the end.
