That's it from us here in the NPL 2025, but we will be back with action tomorrow with a scintillating league-phase game. But do go anywhere, switch tabs to follow more cricketing action from across the globe.
This is Arjun Bhalla signing off on behalf of Mohammad Anab and Ashok Dayma!
Kushal Bhurtel (Pokhara Avengers Captain): "Some catches were dropped but happy we won the game. Adam played very well. Just need to get our basics right in moving forward. The wicket was good for batting but it's not easy to chase down a target of over 200 runs. We would like to keep the momentum now going in our favour for the rest of the tournament."
Adam Rossington (POTM): "Great fun, I had a great partnership with Jason. We had a decent total on the board. It was looking like it would go in vain, but the guys pulled back things superbly."

Time for the post-game presentation!
7:17 PM IST, 7:32 PM Local Time: The game is over. The Pokhara Avengers have beaten the Karnali Yaks. It was a clinical victory for the Avengers as they dismantled the Yaks to win the game by 34 runs.
Karnali Yaks chose to bowl first and struck early when Kushal Bhurtel miscued a shot on 18 from 17 deliveries, falling in the fifth over with the score at 34. Mark Watt claimed the wicket, giving the Yaks a short-lived upper hand. What followed was complete domination from Adam Rossington and debutant Jason Roy. The duo settled quickly, kept the scoreboard ticking with sharp running, and punished anything loose with authority. Rossington, especially, controlled the innings through the middle overs with fluent strokeplay, ensuring Pokhara kept the run rate healthy.
Despite Karnali’s attempts to apply pressure through spin and subtle variations, the second-wicket partnership only grew stronger. As the field spread, boundaries came with greater ease, and Pokhara’s acceleration through overs 10 to 14 was particularly striking. By the close of the 16th over, the Avengers had cruised to 151 for 1, firmly on course for a massive total with their partnership well entrenched. The stand finally ended after a 127-run association when Roy was dismissed for 46.
Rossington, however, carried on seamlessly and found an ideal partner in Dhananjaya Lakshan, who made an immediate impact with early boundaries. Rossington capped off his superb knock by bringing up his century off the final ball of the 19th over. The side ended with a score of 201/2.
Chasing a daunting target of 202, Karnali Yaks began their reply with intent, but their start was dented when Priyank Panchal fell early in the fourth over, leaving the side at 34 for 1. The pressure of the chase could easily have deepened, but the Yaks responded through a spirited counterattack from Mark Watt.
Watt seized control of the middle overs with a burst of clean striking, clearing the infield and finding the ropes regularly to keep the required rate in sight. The Yaks wobbled again when Jaykishan Kolsawala was dismissed in the eighth over, but Watt’s aggression ensured the innings maintained its rhythm. He departed for 59 just at the stroke of strategic time out. Even after his departure late in the tenth over, Karnali refused to allow the innings to drift.
The middle order kept the scoreboard moving with sharp singles and opportunistic boundaries, helped along by a few extras from the Avengers' attack.
However, when around 6 overs were left in the game, Yaks started faltering in their chase and started losing wickets in a flurry. They were all out for 167 in 19 overs.
Rishi Dhawan was excellent on his NPL debut as he picked up 3/37. Dhananjaya Lakshan also took three wickets apiece. Kushal Bhurtel took one wicket but around three-four catches were dropped off his bowling.
With this win, Avengers have two wins from five games and have moved to the 4th spot on the points table. Meanwhile, Yaks have only one win from 6 games and have slipped to the 7th position.
