That's it from our end. A lot of drama unfolded here in NPL today. However, in the end, the better team won the game, and it was Kathmandu Gorkhas today. See you tomorrow with another clash in this league. Also, switch tabs to follow more action!
Till then, this is Arjun Bhalla, signing off on behalf of Utsav Chandak, Paras Yadav and Ghanendra Singh Thakur!
Karan KC (Kathmandu Gorkhas Captain): "I think from last 2 games, everyone was in the zone and everyone is enjoying their game. (When asked about Ben Charlesworth) Its his zone I guess. I want him to play his game, whether he adds 30 or 60, just play your game.
From both powerplays in batting and bowling, we did very well. I think we did very well as a team and now we have 8 points.
Gerhard Erasmus (POTM): "Yeah, it was nice to contribute to the team in my last game. It was hard not to perform in the initial games, but I am happy with this game.
I try bowling from different angles to different batters. T20 is always a quick game, and you need to keep yourself ahead of batters.
This team has been knit brilliantly by the captain and the team management. Lucky to be a part of the winning team.
(On the run-out) Milind and I are good friends. We enjoy each other's company when playing in the team. And we both are professionals when he represents USA and I play for Namibia."
Player of the Match: Gerhard Erasmus
Time for post match presentation.
6:34 PM IST, 6:49 PM Local Time: John Simpson and Namibian Veteran, Gerhard Erasmus, have walked the Gorkhas to their fourth win of the season. They keep marching forward with another dominant win, but for the Yaks, 4 losses out of 5 and a lot of thinking to do. Kathmandu Gorkhas have won the match by five wickets and two overs to spare.
Ben Charlesworth and Aakash Tripathi set the tone in the chase, with an opening stand of 40 runs. The former got off to a flying start, while Tripathi tried to play second fiddle to him. However, he failed and departed inside the powerplay on 8 after 11 balls. Soon, Charlesworth followed and joined his opening partner in the dressing room after amassing 34 off 21 balls.
Milind Kumar and Erasmus then tried to pull back things, but could only share an 11-run stand, which was ended due to a suicidal run-out for the USA all-rounder. However, it didn't dent Kathmandu's hopes, as Erasmus paired up with Simpson to speed up things.
The foreign pair went berserk from both ends, as they shared a stand of 86 runs coming off just 44 balls. It was more than enough to secure the target within the allotted overs. Simpson failed to take his team over the line as he went packing when just a run was needed. Next man in, Rashid Khan, also departed on a golden duck, but Bhim Sharki finished off the game with a maximum!
With this victory, the Gorkhas have climbed a slot upwards to bag the second spot!

6 SIXXXX!!! An upper cut from Sharki, the Gorkhas end over the line! Banged it short and outside the off-stump. It angled away from the batter, who arches his back and waits for the ball to arrive. He plays a beautiful upper cut towards the vacant third-man area. The ball lands on the cushion, and Kathmandu have chased down the total by five wickets with two overs to spare!!!
17.5 N Yadav to B Sharki
0 A bouncer around off-stump to welcome Sharki. He ducks underneath it. Dot it is!! Hattrick chance goes begging!
