Thatâs all from this one-sided contest, folks! Biratnagar Kings outclassed Kathmandu Gorkhas by 5 wickets to make two wins in two. For now, itâs me, Deepak Prakash, signing off from this space along with scorer Asraj Khan. CHEERS!
Sandeep Lamichhane (Biratnagar Kings Captain): "Pretty happy. The momentum is on our side, and everyone is stepping up. Couldnât ask for more. The players weâve brought inâde Lange, Munseyâhave made a big impact. Every guy knows his role, and theyâre giving everything to get us over the line. The plans are clear, and the execution has been spot on.
The atmosphere was fantastic. Every time we come hereâwhether itâs for 50-overs, domestic games, T20s, or the ongoing NPLâthe energy is always electric. Itâs great to see how people make time to come out and support the team wherever we play."
Marchant de Lange (POTM): "Really enjoyed it. The atmosphere was excellent, and I loved every moment of it."
Player of the Match: Marchant de Lange
It's time for the post-match presentation.....
6:27 PM IST, 6:42 PM Local Time: A comprehensive win for Biratnagar Kings, who cruised home by 5 wickets with 17 balls to spare, making it two wins in two. With this dominant chase, the Kings move to the top of the points table, while Kathmandu Gorkhas slump to their second straight defeat.
Earlier, Kathmandu Gorkhas recovered from a shaky start to post 134/6 in 20 overs, thanks to a brilliant late surge from Mohammad Aadil Alam. After being sent in to bat, the hosts collapsed to 29/4 by the ninth over, with Aakash Tripathi, Ricardo Vasconcelos, Pratik Shrestha, and Gerhard Erasmus all falling cheaply. Ben Charlesworth steadied the innings with a patient 32 off 33, while Santosh Yadav added 26 but couldnât convert his start. The momentum shifted only when Aadil Alam launched a counterattack, smashing an unbeaten 48 off 25 balls to lift the Gorkhas to a respectable total. For Biratnagar Kings, Marchant de Lange was the standout bowler with 2/17, while Shubham Ranjane, Surya Tamang, and Sandeep Lamichhane chipped in with a wicket each. In reply, George Munsey set the tone with a blistering 36 off 16 balls, while Martin Guptill added a rapid 25 off 19 to keep the momentum going. Despite losing wickets at intervals, the Kings always stayed ahead of the rate. Basir Ahamad (19) and Naren Bhatta (24) provided valuable middle-order, but the scoring was a bit slow, and they failed to remain unbeaten till the end. Shubham Ranjane (6*) and skipper Sandeep Lamichhane (9* off 3) completed the formalities with ease. For Kathmandu Gorkhas, Shahab Alam was the standout bowler with 2/19, while Karan KC, Gerhard Erasmus, and Santosh Yadav picked up one wicket each.
Stay tuned for the post-match presentation.....
