Milestone
That marks the end of the 7th match of the ongoing Nepal Premier League between Karnali Yaks and Lumbini Lions. Riding on the batting brilliance of Mark Watt, the Yaks have got a thumping victory that has over compensated their last defeat as it is a huge boost to their net run rate.

For now, this is Saptak Sanyal signing off from this space alongside the scorer/analyst Asraj Khan. Don't go anywhere as the second game of the super Saturday in this NPL is about to start in just an hour.
Sompal Kami (Karnali Yaks Captain): "It was an amazing one for us. Whenever you step up for Karnali Yaks, you feel a different vibe. I always feel that special. If you are in the Yaks team with Sompal Kami, the talk is always to express and enjoy yourselves.

Nothing much. We just talk about keeping things simple and go as per the plans."
Mark Watt (Player of the Match): "Absolute incredible. There were a few dropped catches so I backed myself to clear the rope. Glad that it worked.

I've never even got to a hundred so it is special. Games come thick and fast. I hope I can continue to deliver. The Nepali fans always want us to do better. So I wanted to get going and glad to get the success again."

Time for the post-match presentations.
1:51 PM IST and 2:06 PM Local Time : PHEW! What was that? Carnage? Toying with the bowling? Going hammer and tongs? You will fall short of the adjectives trying to describe the Mark Watt brilliance. He has sent the ball flying to every corner of the ground and completely decimated the Lumbini Lions. A victory by 9 wickets and with 46 balls to spare means that's a massive boost to the net run rate of Karnali Yaks.

Earlier batting first, Lumbini Lions got off to a very sedate start in the powerplay as they scored only 36 runs losing a wicket. But the misery for them was that they lost their entire middle order for cheap scores. Rohit Paudel was the pick of the batters scoring 49 runs from 43 balls. He was assisted by JJ Smit and Ruben Trumpelmann. Both of them played two cameo knocks and propelled their team to 156 at the end of their 20 overs.

Nandan Yadav took 2 wickets and he was supported by the other team members who bowled well to restrict the Lions.

Karnali Yaks have decided to tinker with their opening pair and sent Mark Watt to open the innings alongside Priyank Panchal. The idea was to get some early momentum in the powerplay but Watt had some other plans. He saw the first over of Trumpelmann and started going berserk from the next over. He started hitting very hard and timed the ball as per his will. Priyank Panchal hit a boundary and a maximum but got dismissed for 12 off 10 balls.

William Bosisto replaced Panchal in the crease and got off the mark with a huge maximum. But his role was mostly to play the second fiddle to the high flying Mark Watt. Watt used his feet to perfection and hit the bowlers for fun. He got to his hundred in 41 balls and eventually remained unbeaten on 114 off 44 balls. He hit 6 fours and 12 towering maximums on his way. Bosisto remained unbeaten on 29 from 20 balls to ensure the victory.

Sher Malla was the only bowler to get a success for Lumbini Lions.
