Milestone
Well then, all smiles for Jason Roy and his Royal Champs. They have done well to keep their pride intact, but also evilly done damage to the chances of the Northern Warriors. That is the spice in these leagues, and it was on full display this evening.

On this note, I, Manan Mehta would like to take your leave on behalf of my co-commentator Deepak Prakash and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. See yaaa!!!
Jason Roy (Royal Champs Captain): "Thank you very much. We actually have one more tomorrow and looking forward to that. Winning feels a lot better than losing.

Tough tournament for everyone but we stuck together and really happy to get the win. It is important for our pride. We wanted to go out there with a smile on our face. We did that.

The bowling unit stuck to their plans, and we took key wickets at key moments. The chase was tricky at a certain stage, but I was confident we'll get over the line."
Daniel Sams (POTM): "It’s just about having an impact on the game — something we’ve spoken about constantly. Obviously, we haven’t performed the way we wanted to in this tournament, so it was important to come back in and try to make a difference.

It always feels good to contribute to a win for the team; as professionals, that’s what we strive for. So, yeah, we’re glad to finally get on the board."

Time for the post-match presentation.....
11:45 PM IST and 10:15 PM Local Time: The Royal Champs do many teams a favor on that points table as they eke out their first win of the Abu Dhabi T10 league. The Titans and the Stallions qualify as a result of this win, and the Northern Warriors are in deep trouble. They have to depend on other results, and they are to blame themselves here.

They were just off with the bat and had no score to show up for. Colin Munro and Dinesh Chandimal went early for single digit scores. Johnson Charles (20) and Shimron Hetmyer (22) got some hits away but just when you thought they would explode, they imploded to cause further trouble.

The pick of the bowlers were Daniel Sams with his 3-12 in 2 overs and Chris Jordan with his 0-11. The Warriors somehow crawled to 80 runs after 10 overs. That was easily 30 runs below par and the Champs who struggled all tournament finally saw some hope.

The Royal Champs funnily had their own stutters while chasing but eventually got the job done. Jason Roy's poor tournament continued as he went early for just 3. Mohammad Shahzad and Brandon McMullen got a struggling 19 and 10 respectively. Impact player Quentin Sampson too looked stuck for his 15.

However, these scores were acceptable as they just needed one batter to tee off in such a small chase. That came from Aaron Jones, who nailed 20 off 11 to seal the deal. The Royal Champs fortunately will not go home winless and well they have made tomorrow interesting for everyone with one play-off spot still open for grabs.

1 That is it then! The Royal Champs finally get a win in this T10 league! 5 losses on the trot and finally they get a win! They spoil the party for the Warriors! Length ball on the hips, clipped to square leg for a single! Royal Champs win by 7 wickets!
8.3 S Dahani to A Jones
2 Full ball at the stumps, Jones jams that back to the bowler, hits the foot and they pick up a couple as the ball skews to midwicket!
