Milestone
And that brings us to the end of this third match of the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025. What a contest. What a finish. What a night of cricketing theatre. Until next time, I am Dev, signing off along with my co-commentator, Pritam, and our scorer, Yogesh. That’s it from this tab. But remember, the action continues in Abu Dhabi T10. Switch tabs. Follow the fun. Goodbye from this window! Take care! Breathe. Smile. CIAO!
Thisara Perera (Northern Warriors' skipper): Of course, I’m proud of the boys. Coming off a loss just last night and then turning up today with a big win feels really good. At the end of the day, winning is what matters the most for us as a team. As a batting unit, I feel we were about 10 runs short, but the bowlers stepped up brilliantly and covered that gap.

We actually have a fantastic bowling lineup, and if you look at the names, most of them work hard with their national teams and bring that experience here. Defending a low total in T10 is never easy, especially when the last two overs only have 18 runs to play with, but the guys handled it perfectly.

I have to give special credit to Taskin and Dahani. Those two were outstanding at the back end. They’re absolute champions, and they showed why once again. Overall, I’m really happy with the effort and proud to walk away with the win.

Shahnawaz Dahani (Player of the Match): "First of all, thanks to god that I managed to deliver for my team. Yesterday we lost the match but the experienced players like Boult, Taskin, Perera kept backing me and that boosted my confidence.

They told me to take the game to the last ball and I did exactly that and we won the game. We had some plans for this game and it worked out well for us. This win means a lot for me."
Player of the match: Shahnawaz Dahani
Power hitter of the match: Johnson Charles
Catch of the match: Leus du Plooy
Game changer of the match: Rahmanullah Gurbaz

6:52 PM IST, 5:22 PM LOCAL TIME: What a match of fire and frost, where nerves cracked but cricket glowed brighter. A nail-biter that truly went to the wire. But how did the Warriors steal it in the last breath? Because they kept their calm. They trusted their experience. And they backed their death-over master. The Stallions? Heartbroken in their first-ever Abu Dhabi T10 outing, yes, but richer with lessons and braver with intent. Their fight, their chase, their courage under pressure - all praiseworthy. And in the end, who stood taller than the moment? Shahnawaz Dahani, the superstar of the night.

So what happened when the Stallions began their chase of 115? Both openers came out like they had no time to waste. Intent. Energy. Bang-bang hitting. Trent Boult ran in for the first over and walked back after conceding 21 runs. Gurbaz and Fletcher were in full rampage mode. But who pushed back against the storm? Taskeen Ahmed. He knocked over Fletcher in the second over, and the Warriors finally breathed. Mhhmm... Interesting..

Did the early storm stop the Stallions? Not really. They hammered 30 in the two-over Powerplay. Gurbaz looked possessed, batting like he was playing a different game. Boult, surprisingly, had no answers as he leaked 39 runs in his 2-over spell. The Stallions roared to 48 in just three overs, swinging momentum their way. But cricket loves twists. Odean Smith came into the attack and dismissed the fiery Gurbaz. And then Shamsi, with his first ball, removed du Plooy with a full toss. Yes, a full toss. Yes, it worked. The game tilted.

What did that early blaze do? It gave the middle order room to breathe. They could afford to take a moment, rebuild, and then go again. But the Warriors tightened the screws. Fielders dived. Bowlers hit their lengths. The match hung perfectly balanced when the equation read - 45 needed off 24 balls. Avishka and Saif tried to shift gears, scoring freely to snatch back momentum. Suddenly, the chase was alive again. Then came the turning point. Taskin returned in the penultimate over and removed Avishka. Another twist. Another gasp. Another pendulum swing.

Could the Stallions still pull off a heist? They tried. They brought in their impact sub, Sam Billings, hoping for one last charge. And he delivered, hitting a couple of clean boundaries. The equation? Eight needed off four balls. A thriller. A classic. A perfect T10 climax. But Dahani wasn’t done. The third ball - wicket. The fourth ball - wicket again. Two strikes. Two heartbreaks. Two moments that sealed the night. From needing 7 runs in the last over, the Warriors defended it like champions. Dahani became the hero who closed the door.

And what about the first innings? Earlier, the Stallions won the toss and asked the Warriors to bat. The Warriors stuttered early, scoring only 11 in the first two overs of the Powerplay. Zazai fell cheaply, and pressure loomed. But what followed was the partnership that made the night - Charles and Munro stitched a superb 103-run stand. Simple batting. Smart hitting. Momentum in the middle overs. Charles reached a strong fifty. Munro powered his 38. Though the final overs yielded only 19 runs, the damage was already done. The Warriors walked off with 114/1 on the board. Only Mills managed to take a wicket, and he bowled brilliantly amidst the chaos.
