9:13 PM IST, 7:43 PM Local Time: Quetta Qavalry thump Northern Warriors by a massive 51 runs and kickstart their Abu Dhabi T10 journey on a high note. The Warriors never looked comfortable during the chase and could only muster 82 runs, losing just a couple of wickets.
Earlier, after being invited to bat first, Quetta Cavalry posted 133/5 in 10 overs. They got off to a shaky start, struggling to score freely and slipping to 65/5, with Liam Livingstoneās 24 off 10 being the only notable contribution until then. However, Khawaja Nafay came out all guns blazing and provided the much-needed acceleration, smashing 45 off just 12 balls. Jason Holder delivered an unbeaten cameo of 24, helping Quetta cross the 130-run mark.
Trent Boult starred with the ball for Northern Warriors, claiming 2 wickets, while Odean Smith, Tabraiz Shamsi, and Thisara Perera chipped in with one wicket each.
Northern Warriors could only manage 82/2 in their 10 overs while chasing 134, falling 51 runs short in a one-sided contest. Hazratullah Zazai looked sluggish, remaining unbeaten on 31 off 28 balls, but struggled to find any real momentum throughout the innings. Colin Munro, despite finishing with 44 off 28, also scored at a slower pace than required, given the target and the format. He was dismissed off the very last ball of the match, by which time the result had long been sealed.
