And that brings an end to our coverage of this game between Pakistan A and Oman, the opening fixture of the Rising Stars Asia Cup. Pakistan A start their tournament with a convincing win.

For now, this is Hiren Kumar signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Manan and our scorer/analyst Yogesh Kumar. Do join us for the India A vs UAE game coming up next.

Cheers and bye!

Irfan Khan Niazi (Pakistan A captain): "It was a good game for us. A good start to the tournament. Nothing much was planned. Every player know their role.

It was important to adapt to the conditions and play accordingly. We need to improve in the middle overs. Some players are new in this conditions. We will just play that game as a normal game (on their game against India A). Thank you"
Hammad Mirza (Oman Captain): "I feel we were not good in the field. Dropped catches and we lost the match there.

I think the middle order is inexperienced and that is why we lost all those wickets. Similar approach in the next game from us, but hopefully better in the field."
Maaz Sadaqat (Player of the Match): "Firstly, thank to the almighty. I think it was one of the best match of my career. Happy to contribute with both bat and ball.

There is a lot of hard work behind this performance. I hope I continue to keep performing like this. Thank you."
Player of the Match - Maaz Sadaqat
Welcome to the post match presentations.
3:20 PM IST and 12:50 PM Local Time: Phew! That was some hitting by Zikria Islam and Muzahir Raza! Oman lost eventually but that partnership was by far the highlight of the match.

Oman put the men in green to bat after winning the toss. The proceedings looked fair for most part of it as Pakistan A were going at a steady speed and Oman were picking wickets regularly. However, post the 15th over disaster broke out for Oman!

Maaz Sadaqat who had got to his 50 at a decent speed accelerated and with him Captain Irfan Khan Niazi too hit a few big shots! Sadaqat ended on an impressive 96 Not out! Pakistan A added 86 runs of the last 5 overs!

For Oman Samay Shrivastava bowled economically but was unlucky not to get any wicket. 0-26 in his 4 overs. Wasim Ali was also good with 1-31(4). However, Pakistan A ended on a massive 220/4 in their 20 overs!

Oman lost Sufyan Yousuf very early. However, post that Hammad Mirza and Karan Sonavale took the attack to Pakistan A. They scored 57 runs in just 36 balls before Sonavale fell. Captain Hammad Mirza was sold by his non striker after he got run out of a no ball.

That is where the tide turned big time in favor of Pakistan A. From 64-1 Oman slipped to 79-7. The middle order could not pick the spinners at all, and another unnecessary run out brought about this collapse! One would have thought that Oman would be bowled out under 100 from that position.

However, that is when the entertainment began! Zikria Islam and Muzahir Raza took on the Pakistani bowlers unexpectedly! Number 8 and 9 batters just shocked the men in green! They just took on the spinners and then did not even the pacers. They notched up 88 runs as a pair in around 7 overs. At one point they had hit 54 runs in 3 overs during that partnership. It was hitting of the highest quality and the main bowlers were getting tonked.

Eventually the partnership broke but that was sensational. Islam scored 57(26) balls and Muzahir ended with 46(24) Not out! Oman eventually lost by 40 runs but that easily could have been more than 100 runs if this pair did not bat the way they did.

Ubaid Shah finished with 3-29(3). Maaz Sadaqat had a good outing with the ball as well. 2-14 in 3 overs. Pakistan A will have some talking to do about the runs they conceded but eventually would be happy that they were the winners of the game!
