Milestone
That's it from our coverage of the second semi-final of the Canada Super 60 tournament. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Manan Mehta and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for the live coverage of the tournament's final between Blitz and Tigers, which will start in a short while.
David Wiese (Brampton Blitz): "Yeah, it is a little easy when your boys are batting like that. Yes, I mean Sikandar and his team did really well to get to 148. They came hard at us.

In all honesty we didn't bowl well. It was a bit disappointing. We should look to execute better. The final is a bit of a payback for us.

Didn't do well against these guys in the league game and it is an opportunity for us to put up a show in the final."
Sikandar Raza (Mississauga Masters Captain): "This is probably the best batting performance I have seen in this tournament. If someone bats like this way then you can't do much. Even if we got 170-175 runs today, then also, these two openers (Guptill & Smeed) would have chased that down.

We played well today. Our batting clicked well and scored 148 runs, which is a big score. Sad that we couldn't qualify for the finals. But still, I am proud of the boys for the way they have played throughout this tournament.

I hope the Canada Super 60 tournament is here to stay because we would like to return next year."
Martin Guptill (POTM): "Yeah got away with a couple that miss the stumps, but I have enjoyed my time here big time! Yeah, we just kept on telling each other to go for the big hits.

The wicket was decent in the previous game as well. In the first game, guys batted well to get to a 100. In our chance it got slightly better to bat on. Credit goes to Will Smeed. He is just striking them phenomenally well!

We had a chance to restrict them from 120 but we gave away a few more. However, with the bat we were clinical. Enjoyed it!"

Time for post-match presentations...
6:46 AM IST, 6:16 PM Local Time: Brampton Blitz have won this game unexpectedly quite easily by nine wickets. It was just raining sixes from their openers, Martin Guptill and Will Smeed. They made this chase look like a cakewalk. With this thumping victory, they now qualify for the finals and will play against the Montreal Royal Tigers for the title later in the day.

Batting first, Masters skipper Sikandar Raza and opener Leus du Plooy stitched a magnificent 70-run partnership for the second wicket. Du Plooy scored a brilliant 20-ball 43, and Raza stormed to a 13-ball 29. However, some brakes were put on their innings by Blitz leggie Piyush Chawla, who picked up three wickets in quick succession. Still, Masters made sure they didn't make a mess of the start as contributions from lower-order batters powered them to an excellent 148.

The total seemed enough for a big game like a semi-final. However, no one knew that we would be witnessing perhaps one of the best batting performances of the tournament. Blitz openers Martin Guptill and Will Smeed smashed every bowler out of the park from the first over itself. Guptill departed for 79 (25) while Smeed stayed unbeaten at 63 (21). The duo stitched a partnership of 141 runs and smashed 19 sixes in total.

With this win, Blitz will be fancying their chances to win the Canada Super 60 2025 final later tonight and lift the trophy.
