Milestone
Montreal Royal Tigers have now qualified for the final with this win over Vancouver Kings. That's it from our coverage of the first semi-final game. This is Mohammad Anab signing off on behalf of my co-commentator Karthik Raj and our scorer/analyst Raju Khariya. Stay tuned for the coverage of the second semi-final game that will start in a few minutes. Cheers.
Shakib Al Hasan (Montreal Royal Tigers Captain): "Really happy to qualify for the finals. This is what the franchise owners wanted.

I thought we were 25 runs short. But credit goes to our bowlers for the way they defended this total.

I am not sure whether Dilpreet Bajwa will play in the final. I still need to check. He is sitting in the dugout. Hopefully, he can bat. He has taken injections, and I think that might settle down in some time.

Boys have the attitude of never giving up. They give their best even while defending a small total."
Dwaine Pretorius (Vancouver Kings Captain): "Thought 100 was a good total to chase but we lost a few wickets and then my run-out was big. Disappointing to  not make the final but this is why you play the game.

You never know what could happen. Even our support staff, Dono (Donovan Miller, Head Coach) has been switched on from the beginning. Tight schedule. Everyone has contributed. We haven't relied on one of two players. If you see at our 'Player of the Matches', it has been our local players."
Nick Hobson (Player of the Match): "(When did he know he will play the game) Probably an hour or hour and a half before the toss. (On Dilpreet Bajwa's absence) He has played so well. A loss for the team. Luckily, it was my day. We lost a few wickets in patches which is the nature of T10. We struggled until the last over and were a bit under-par.

(Experience of the Canada Super60) It is really exciting. The guys have loved their time in Canada. Can't wait for the final. (Whether Dilpreet will be back for the final) Yeah, will rest during the final (Laughs)."

Time for the Post-match Presentation!
4:17 AM IST, 3:47 PM Local Time: Montreal Royal Tigers have registered a victory by 24 runs over Vancouver Kings in the first semi-final of Canada Super 60 2025. Credit goes to their bowlers, who were able to defend a total of 100 runs.

Electing to bat first, Montreal Royal Tigers' opener Josh Brown gave a fiery start by smashing 26 off just 10 deliveries. However, other top-order batters struggled to get going and kept getting out by holding in the deep. Their innings was struggling until Nick Hobson came out to resurrect it. The batter almost single-handedly took his side to the 100-run mark by making 50* off 23 balls. Hobson smashed 26 runs alone in the final over.

In reply, the Vancouver Kings struggled to hit boundaries consistently throughout their innings. In the process of finding boundaries, they kept losing their wickets. Only opener Max Chu touched the 25-run mark among all their players who came out to bat. The team only managed 76/8 in their 10 overs. The star performers with the ball for Montreal were Ryan Higgins, Isuru Udana and Shakib Al Hasan. In fact, Shakib, despite being a spinner, gave only five runs in his two overs.

Montreal have now qualified for the finals of the Canada Super 60 2025. Their opponent will be the winner of the second semi-final match, which will start soon.
