Ibrahim Zadran receives the winner's trophy on behalf of the team! The celebrations can now begin!
Ibrahim Zadran (POTS and Afghanistan Captain): "I was disappointed with our performance in the Test series. Therefore, I took the responsibility to perform well and win the series for our team.
I made some changes in my technique and worked on my batting, and it has produced results.
Rashid Khan played well in the first two games. Mujeeb Ur Rahman got wickets, especially in the powerplay. Rahmanullah Gurbaz batted well. He was in the form, but unfortunately didn't get fifty in the first two games, but got one today. We won the series because we played as a team."
Player of the Series: Ibrahim Zadran
Rahmanullah Gurbaz (Player of the Match): "The wicket was good, Ibrahim and I were just discussing that we need to go deep, and that's why we could put up a good total on the board, and make things easy for everyone. It's not our first time building a good partnership together; the way we communicate things is special, and we understand each other well.
I was struggling to score big for a while. I was happy with how I was hitting the ball, but today I think it was my day, and I am happy I could contribute to the win."
Player of the Match: Rahmanullah Gurbaz
Sikandar Raza (Zimbabwe Captain): "Certainly pleased. Like I said the last time we walked, I wanted the team to want a big innings from me. And I am thankful that I could deliver.
We, as a team, wanted a kickup our backside, and today we played well like we have done in the recent past. This (this series) was not Zimbabwe, and this is not the way we play. We demanded that after the last game.
(Ryan Burl) Burly needed that; he has batted superbly, and he was hurt more than anyone. You need that.
(On the upcoming Tri-series in Pakistan) We will have to learn to adapt to the conditions in Pakistan, and we have to prepare better with bat and ball. It is going to be a high-octane series, and we have to be prepared."
Time for the post-game presentation!
