That brings an end to our coverage of this Melbourne Derby. Keep joining us for more cricketing action all around the globe. For now, this is Akshay Bhide, signing off, on behalf of scorer Paras Yadav. Until next time, cheers and good bye.
Deandra Dottin (Player of the Match): "Yeah, it was really good. We should have stayed there but good to see them finish the game with the batting depth we have. It means a lot to be honest. It’s like third time we have won this game. We have done well to beat them at home in the Derby."

11:18 AM IST, 4:48 PM Local Time: That’s it. Melbourne Renegades Women emerge victorious in the Melbourne Derby. They beat Melbourne Stars Women by four wickets to get back to winning ways in the Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) 2025. A very good victory for the Women in Red here at the Junction Oval and they hand the Stars Women their first loss this season.

The Renegades Women lost Davina Perrin (5) in the second over while chasing 142. Courtney Webb was joined by skipper Sophie Molineux and both steadied the ship. Both kept ticking the scoreboard and put 58 between them before Molineux (32) fell right on the stroke of the drinks break.

Alice Capsey (10) and Courtney Webb (37) were dismissed in a quick succession. Georgia Wareham (19) and Deandra Dottin (13) got starts but failed to carry on as the Stars Women refused to give up. Tess Flintoff (17*) and Nicole Faltum (7*) held their nerves at the back end of the chase and took the Renegades Women home in the penultimate over with four wickets in hand.

Kim Garth (2/16) and Maisy Gibson (2/31) picked up two scalps each for the Stars Women. Marizanne Kapp (1/24) and skipper Annabel Sutherland (1/35) chipped in with a wicket apiece but were a bit on the expensive side and as a result, they failed to defend the total.

Earlier, the Stars Women were asked to bat first and they lost Meg Lanning (3) and Amy Jones (5) cheaply. Rhys McKenna (32) looked solid at the top of the order but the Renegades Women did a fine job to keep things tight in the middle overs.

Annabel Sutherland (29) and Marizanne Kapp (22) stitched a good partnership for the fourth wicket but the Stars Women lost their way as the death overs approached. They lost all the momentum before Kim Garth at seven played a fine cameo of 29 off 19 to take her side to 141/7 at the end of 20 overs.

Deandra Dottin was the stand out bowler for the Renegades Women, registering figures of 3/20 from her three overs. An all-around effort from the batters saw them chase down the total with four wickets in hand and emerge victorious in the Melbourne Derby of the WBBL 2025.

4 FOUR!!! Flintoff finishes things off in style. Sutherland bowls it full on off, Flintoff plants her front leg, gets underneath this one and plays a beautiful lofted drive past the right of mid off for a boundary. The Renegades beat the Stars in the Melbourne Derby.
18.4 A Sutherland to T Flintoff
4 FOUR!!! Smashed for four runs. Scores Level!! A back of the hand slower delivery into the pitch outside off, Flintoff waits for it and slaps it hard over covers. The sweeper has no chance of getting anywhere close to it.
18.4 A Sutherland to T Flintoff
WD WIDE!!! Full and sliding down leg, Flintoff misses the flick and Jones does very well to stop that one.
